Ed3 Weekly Issue #140: Come Together

Hello Ed3 frens,

I post regularly about AI, and I post regularly about blockchain. Lately, I’ve been coming across more and more examples of the two working together.

I’m not the only one. Recently the a16z “State of Crypto Report 2024” covered topics such as “decentralized autonomous chatbots” and “AI needs a wallet of one’s own to act agentically.”

Also, the Bnkless podcast hosted a discussion with Shaw, diving into the role of AI agents in crypto.

This holds a lot of relevance for the education space. AI is operating like a “trojan horse.” It creates a tangible value proposition while also quietly laying the groundwork for blockchain integration.

This relationship is covered in detail in this week’s deep dive. The article “The Future Is AI-Centric, and Blockchains Need to Be as Well” explores the importance of an overhaul of the underlying infrastructure in order to make AI-blockchain integration possible.

The other resources for the week continue to provide resources about some current news out of the blockchain and education world. The article “US High School Economics class: Bitcoin hits $100,000 as Trump era hopes grow” provides some lesson ideas on how to teach Bitcoin and crypto fundamentals in a financial literacy context.

“Chaminade, Blockchain Firm Partner for ‘Datapreneurship’ Internship” is an exciting piece of news out of the blockchain scene in Hawaii. I had the chance to meet Dr. Helen Turner at the 2024 Hawaii Blockchain Summit and the work she is doing with data and blockchain is phenomenal.

And finally “Why Should You Learn About Crypto Now, Even If You’re Not a Trader?” gives some great information on new career opportunities and roles in the web3 space.

Enjoy all the resources for the week! Don’t forget to:

The Future Is AI-Centric, and Blockchains Need to Be as Well

AI agents are making waves, but their integration with blockchain remains a challenge. Yet, this combination holds incredible promise for transforming how we learn and teach. This article explores why AI-first blockchains are critical to unlocking the potential of autonomous agents. It’s a fascinating look at the infrastructure overhaul needed to create systems that work at “machine speed” while ensuring reliability and scalability. Read
