Ed3 Weekly Issue #100: The Great Innovation

Hello Ed3 Community! Happy 100th Issue of Ed3 Weekly!!

Two years ago, on March 25, 2022, I launched the first issue of Ed3 Weekly on the now-defunct Revue platform. With Revue gone, exact views and subscriber numbers are lost, but early engagement was modest.

Initially, the newsletter featured my writings on education and web3, expanding in subsequent issues to include my peers' work and insights into my journey with web3 in education.

Over time, I experimented with formats, highlighting web3 events, podcasts, thought leaders, and even notable tweets during web3 Twitter's heyday.

Finding my rhythm by issue 31 in November 2022, I transitioned to Substack and LinkedIn , especially after Elon Musk's Twitter acquisition and the shutdown of Revue, marking a significant pivot for Ed3 Weekly. LinkedIn significantly broadened my audience, growing to over 800 subscribers!

Now, as I celebrate issue #100, I reflect on the journey. With the ASCD conference in Washington DC ahead, Chris Dixon's "Read Write Own" in hand, and a web3 course I wrote for the Idaho State Albion Center for Professional Development ready, I marvel at the progress made.

This isn't about boasting but acknowledging the collective strides of our web3 educator community to integrate blockchain with education.

For this milestone issue, I pondered various celebratory approaches but decided against anything elaborate. Instead, I leave you with a quote from "Read Write Own," capturing the essence of innovation:

"When the great innovation appears, it will almost certainly be in a muddled, incomplete and confusing form. To the discoverer himself it will be only half understood; to everybody else it will be a mystery. For any speculation which does not at first glance look crazy, there is no hope." – Freeman Dyson

Thank you for your support through the first 100 issues. Next week, we'll return to our regular programming, bringing you my top picks from the intersection of web3 and education.

Stay tuned for exciting updates, including a fresh approach to utilizing AI and a new platform that marries web3 with educational accessibility.

Thank you for stopping by for another issue of my web3??education newsletter. You can join over 800 others and subscribe to the newsletter on LinkedIn or join the SubStack here . Learn more about me by visiting my website .
