11-11-2024 Article: Trump's Coat-Tails In Miami-Dade County Pulled Up Local Republicans...
Doral, Florida - Donald Trump won a historic victory this week. His re-election to the presidency signaled a re-alignment similar to other great re-alignments in American political history. In 1860 we had the Civil War, in 1936 the New Deal, in 1964 the Great Society, and in 1980 the Reagan Revolution. Today’s new MAGA coalition represents Americans of all ethnicities working for opportunities to make a better life for their families.
In the process of winning a majority of the national popular vote, Trump won 55% of the vote in Miami-Dade County. This county has approximately 1,525,000 registered voters, had 72% turnout, and is around 70% Hispanic. His victory was the first by a Republican presidential candidate in this county since 1988, when Poppy Bush rode the coat-tails of Ronaldus Magnus. The tragedy of the contemporary conservative movement in America was that the Reagan legacy was taken up by the unworthy Bush dynasty. Poppy’s grand-daughter, Barbara Bush, campaigned for Quemala this year, and no members of their family endorsed Trump.
Now Trump has a created a new winning nationalist populist coalition in the conservative movement. American nationalism is not based on ethnicity and geography, like the European nationalism of “blood and soil.” Instead, American nationalism is based on ideology and belief in the American Creed, regardless of ethnicity. As for geography, America is oceans away from the Eurasian landmass.
American populism was set forth in the Constitution, adopted in 1789: “We the People.” The first Republican President, Abraham Lincoln, observed at Gettysburg during 1863 that in America government is of, by and for the people. It is not of, by or for a technocratic elite indoctrinated and credentialed by colleges and universities, and unaccountable to the people.
In contrast to Trump’s victory in 2016, however, this time he had coat-tails. He helped elect new Republican Senators not only in West Virginia and Montana, but also in Ohio and Pennsylvania. He also appears to have helped Republicans retain their narrow majority in the House of Representatives. There were also Republican gains in the state legislatures of Minnesota of Michigan.
In Miami-Dade County, Trump’s coat-tails were on full display. Republicans fielded candidates for the five county-wide partisan offices: (1) Sheriff; (2) Clerk of the Courts; (3) Supervisor of Elections; (4) Tax Collector; and (5) Property Appraiser. Each of these candidates won with the exact same percentage of the votes as did Trump, 55%, except the candidate for Property Appraiser, who received 57%. He is a long-time distinguished journalist and a former Miami City Mayor, with exceptional name-recognition. In the entire State of Florida, Trump won 56% of the vote, not much more than in Miami-Dade County. These county-wide Republican candidates faced exceptionally aggressive, coordinated and well-funded campaigns by their Democrat opponents. Nevertheless, the Republicans prevailed, mostly due to Trump’s coat-tails. In addition, 17 of 19 Republican candidates for the state legislature in Miami-Dade County won their races.
During the non-partisan elections in August, on the other hand, the Democrat County Mayor won re-election with a majority in the first round. The Democrat State’s Attorney and the Public Defender did not even face a Republican challenger, nor did four of the Democrat County Commissioners and one of the Democrat members of the School Board.
Trump was not at the top of the ballot then.
Let's ask: What is the definition of Coat-Tails?
One of the two back parts of the skirt of a coat, especially one of the tails on a tailcoat.
CNN data guru marvels at Trump making biggest electoral gains in over 30 years
CNN senior data reporter Harry Enten broke down the numbers showing just how significant President-elect Donald Trump’s victory on Election Day was.
During Friday’s episode of "CNN News Central," Enten explained how Trump made the greatest improvements over a previous presidential election performance from his same party since 1992.
"When was the last time a party gained in so many different places?" he asked. "You have to go all the way to back to 1992 when Bill Clinton improved on Michael Dukakis’ performance?in 49 states, plus the District of Columbia."
At one part, Enten marveled, "Donald Trump’s performance on Tuesday was the best for a Republican presidential candidate in exit poll history. He literally goes all the way back through history and breaks history."?
As Enten’s chart indicated, the president-elect improved his party’s election performance this race in 49 states and Washington, D.C. over the 2020 election, with Washington state being the only one where he didn’t do better.
"You know, I think the breadth of the improvement that Donald Trump had –?Holy Toledo!"
He told CNN anchor Kate Bolduan, "The bottom line is, no matter where you looked on the map, Kate Bolduan, no matter where you looked, Donald Trump was improving on where he did four years ago, except for Washington state. It is no wonder that at this particular point, he looks like he’s going to be the first Republican to win the popular vote since George W. Bush back in 2004."
Enten went on to show some of the voting groups Trump made historical gains in this election, including with young voters, as well as Black and Latino voters.
"Oh my goodness gracious, these are the types of groups you never would’ve thought that Donald Trump would’ve gained so much support among eight years ago when he first won against Hillary Clinton."
He continued: "Trump’s was the best GOP showing among 18 through 29-year-olds in twenty years. You have to go all the way back to 2004. How about among Black voters? It was the best performance for a Republican candidate for president in 48 years since Gerald Ford, since 1976."
He added that it was the best performance among Hispanic voters since exit polling in that category started in 1972.
Summing it up, he said, "Donald Trump’s performance on Tuesday was the best for a Republican presidential candidate in exit poll history. He literally goes all the way back through history and breaks history. This is what we’re talking about, Kate Bolduan, groups that you never thought Trump would do well among, even for a Republican candidate, that is what he did."
Then-White House Chief of Staff Reince Priebus, then-National Trade Council adviser Peter Navarro, then- Senior Adviser Jared Kushner, then- policy adviser Stephen Miller, and then-chief strategist Steve Bannon watch as former President Donald Trump signs an executive order in the Oval Office of the White House in Washington on Jan. 23, 2017.
President-elect Donald Trump is naming longtime adviser Stephen Miller to be the deputy chief of policy in his upcoming administration, according to Vice President-elect JD Vance.
Vance, a Republican Ohio senator, wrote a message of congratulations to Miller on social media platform X, describing the move as “another fantastic pick by the president.” He was responding to a message on X that cited CNN as saying Miller would be named as deputy chief of policy.
The report from CNN, which cited anonymous sources connected to Trump, first reported on the development Monday. Neither Trump nor Miller have commented on Vance’s comment or the reports.
Miller was a senior adviser in Trump’s first term and has been a central figure in many of his policy decisions, namely focusing on illegal immigration and border security. Miller also helped craft many of Trump’s speeches and plans on immigration.
The Epoch Times has contacted the Trump campaign for comment Monday.
Since Trump’s first term in the White House ended in 2021, Miller served as the president of America First Legal, a legal group that has filed a number of lawsuits against the Biden administration, universities, and media companies over issues such as immigration, religion, and freedom of speech.
Other than Miller, Trump has so far named campaign manager Susie Wiles as his chief of staff, former Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) chief Tom Homan as his “border czar,” and Rep. Elsie Stefanik (R-N.Y.) as his U.S. ambassador to the United Nations.
“I am pleased to announce that the Former ICE Director, and stalwart on Border Control, Tom Homan, will be joining the Trump Administration, in charge of our Nation’s Borders (‘The Border Czar’), including, but not limited to, the Southern Border, the Northern Border, all Maritime, and Aviation Security,” Trump said on Truth Social.
He added, “I’ve known Tom for a long time, and there is nobody better at policing and controlling our Borders,” adding that Homan “will be in charge of all Deportation of Illegal Aliens back to their Country of Origin.”
Regarding Stefanik’s nomination, Trump described her as a “incredibly strong, tough, and smart America First fighter.”
Trump wrote Saturday in a social media post that he will “not be inviting back Nikki Haley, who served as his UN ambassador in his first stint in the White House, along with well as former Secretary of State Mike Pompeo, who also served as his CIA director. Haley, a former South Carolina governor, ran against Trump in the GOP primary before she dropped out and endorsed him for president earlier this year.
Along with carrying out mass deportations, Trump has promised to sign an executive order on his first day in office to prevent agencies from giving automatic American citizenship to children who are born of illegal immigrants who are in the United States, known as birthright citizenship.
Trump likely will also resume construction of a border all along the U.S.-Mexico border, a promise he made often during the 2016 campaign cycle. More than 400 miles of border barrier were erected or replaced during his first administration, according to an archived news release issued by the first Trump administration in late 2020.

This is a developing news story.?
Former Rep. Lee Zeldin (R-N.Y.) will join the second administration of President-elect Donald Trump as head of the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), Trump announced on Nov. 11.
“Lee, with a very strong legal background, has been a true fighter for America First policies,” Trump told The Epoch Times in an emailed statement. “He will ensure fair and swift deregulatory decisions that will be enacted in a way to unleash the power of American businesses, while at the same time maintaining the highest environmental standards, including the cleanest air and water on the planet. He will set new standards on environmental review and maintenance that will allow the United States to grow in a healthy and well-structured way.”
“It is an honor to join President Trump’s Cabinet as EPA Administrator,” Zeldin wrote on the social media platform X.
“We will restore US energy dominance, revitalize our auto industry to bring back American jobs, and make the US the global leader of AI. We will do so while protecting access to clean air and water.”
Multiple individuals served as the EPA’s administrator during Trump’s first term, including Scott Pruitt and Andrew Wheeler. The current administrator is Michael Regan, who was appointed by President Joe Biden and has been in office since March 21, 2021.
Zeldin’s appointment will need to be approved by the U.S. Senate, which will be controlled by Republicans starting in January 2025, before he becomes administrator.
Zeldin, 44, represented New York’s 1st Congressional District, which includes most of Long Island, in the U.S. House of Representatives from 2015 to 2023. Zeldin opted against running for another term and instead ran for governor of New York. He won the GOP primary but lost to Gov. Kathy Hochul, a Democrat, by about 378,000 votes out of 5.9 million cast, including a majority of the vote outside New York City.
Rep. Nick LaLota (R-N.Y.), who now represents the district, said on X: “Lee Zeldin’s vision for the EPA focuses on economic growth while protecting our environment. His plan to restore energy dominance, create jobs, and protect clean air & water makes him an ideal choice to lead the EPA.”
More recently, Zeldin has chaired the China Policy Initiative and Pathway to 2025 at the America First Policy Institute.
Prior to his time in Congress, Zeldin was in the U.S. Army and deployed to Iraq. He then served in the state Senate before becoming a congressman.
Zeldin’s votes on climate proposals include, in addition to all other House Republicans, voting against the 2022 Inflation Reduction Act, which included funding for improving the supply of water in western states.
Zeldin has a 14 percent score from the League of Conservation Voters, an advocacy group, due to his voting record. The group in the past criticized Trump’s first administration over its positions on the environment and climate, and poured $115 million into the effort to elect Vice President Kamala Harris.
Trump and Vice President-elect JD Vance have been announcing various appointments since he became president-elect. They have announced that Susie Wiles will be White House chief of staff, Stephen Miller will be deputy chief of policy, and Rep. Elise Stefanik (R-N.Y.) will be the U.S. ambassador to the United Nations.

Candidates for Senate majority leader have said they will honor President-elect Donald Trump’s request to make appointments when the Senate is in recess.
Ahead of the Senate leadership election on Nov. 13, Sens. John Thune (R-S.D.), John Cornyn (R-Texas), and Rick Scott (R-Fla.) have said they would support recess appointments.
“Any Republican Senator seeking the coveted LEADERSHIP position in the United States Senate must agree to Recess Appointments (in the Senate!), without which we will not be able to get people confirmed in a timely manner,” Trump said in a post on X. “Sometimes the votes can take two years, or more. This is what they did four years ago, and we cannot let it happen again. We need positions filled IMMEDIATELY!”
“100% agree,” Scott wrote on X, sharing Trump’s post. “I will do whatever it takes to get your nominations through as quickly as possible.”
Thune said in an X post: “We must act quickly and decisively to get the president’s nominees in place as soon as possible, & all options are on the table to make that happen, including recess appointments. We cannot let Schumer and Senate Dems block the will of the American people.”
“It is unacceptable for Senate Ds to blockade President @realDonaldTrump’s cabinet appointments,” Cornyn wrote on X. “If they do, we will stay in session, including weekends, until they relent. Additionally, the Constitution expressly confers the power on the President to make recess appointments.”
Recess appointments would allow the president to nominate executive and judicial personnel who would likely not receive Senate confirmation. Recess appointments have not happened in years due to the Senate meeting in pro forma sessions, meaning that although the Senate is meeting, it is only for a few minutes and therefore no legislative business is conducted.
The recess appointments clause of the U.S. Constitution states that “the President shall have Power to fill up all Vacancies that may happen during the Recess of the Senate, by granting Commissions which shall expire at the End of their next Session.”
In 2012, President Barack Obama made recess appointments, including appointing Richard Cordray to lead the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau.
“The convening of periodic pro forma sessions in which no business is to be conducted does not have the legal effect of interrupting an intrasession recess otherwise long enough to qualify as a ‘Recess of the Senate’ under the Recess Appointments Clause,” the Justice Department’s Office of Legal Counsel wrote at the time. “In this context, the President therefore has discretion to conclude that the Senate is unavailable to perform its advise-and-consent function and to exercise his power to make recess appointments.”
However, the Supreme Court unanimously ruled in 2014 that recess appointments cannot be made when the Senate is in a pro forma session.
Then-Justice Stephen Breyer wrote that “the Recess Appointments Clause is not designed to overcome serious institutional friction. It simply provides a subsidiary method for appointing officials when the Senate is away during a recess.”

Last week, a mob rampaged through the streets of Amsterdam, ambushing and assaulting Jews. Anyone who appeared to be a supporter of Israeli soccer team Maccabi Tel Aviv was targeted by groups mostly consisting of young men from the city’s Dutch Moroccan and Dutch Turkish communities. Just before the 86th anniversary of Kristallnacht, victims pleaded with their assailants “not Jewish, not Jewish.”
This shameful episode is only the latest example of antisemitism on Europe’s streets. It is the disgraceful consequence of an irresponsible migration policy that is equally receptive to Islamists and Holocaust deniers. Violent incidents have become more common since October 7, 2023, and the already shrinking population of European Jews is set to decline further as many Jews in the Netherlands, in France, and my country, Germany, consider emigrating.?
The decline, in Germany and Europe more generally, is greeted with a shrug. Such complacency is shameful. Particularly in Germany. The country can never make up for its historical guilt, but it could help ensure that history doesn’t repeat itself. Not only should Germany be working to persuade Jews to stay—we should throw open our doors to Jews who want to move here. Allow me to explain...
In his book Why the Germans? Why the Jews?, German historian G?tz Aly exposes how antisemitism is deeply rooted in a destructive envy. He describes how, for centuries, people were not only envious of the outward successes of the Jews but also of something profound and ancient—a culture, a religion, a history that has continued to exist across millennia.?
“The envious person,” Aly surmises, “is always seeking a scapegoat.” The unsettling question he poses is “Can you be envious of someone you despise?” Jews were vilified as being “rootless,” although they possessed exactly what the Germans had been looking for: a clear identity and story.?

Envy, again, is a major root cause of the global spread of Islamist antisemitism. What we know from Germany’s painful history is that when antisemitic envy, and the envy of achievement, become the dominant zeitgeist, they stand in the way of knowledge, wealth, and progress. Instead, they produce delusion, poverty, and regression. What inevitably transpires is the opposite of meritocracy: “ineptocracy,” or the rule of the least capable.?
Envy as a decelerator of success and excellence is by no means a German phenomenon. But it is widespread in Germany, and alive with almost masochistic vigor. And anyone who cares about the future of this country and Europe should be concerned about defeating it.
Germany could change the status quo—and surprise the world—with a move at once altruistic and in its own self-interest: passing a law that gives preferential naturalization to Jewish immigrants. This concrete gesture would lend much-needed credibility to all of the sermonizing by German politicians in response to the rise in antisemitism that has followed October 7: sermonizing about how Jewish life is a part of German culture, and how antisemitism has no place in Germany. It would narrow the considerable gap that exists between words and deeds.?
But Germany would also be doing itself a favor.?
As the world becomes increasingly antisemitic, Germany could attract the greatest talents in business, science, the arts, and technology. This would send out a signal against antisemitism globally and also be an extremely effective program to boost the well-being and prosperity of Germans. Were Mecklenburg-West Pomerania—a federal state in the East as large as Israel—to become a preferred immigration area for Jewish migrants, I would wager that in 10 years it would have some of the best universities, the greatest density of start-ups, the lowest unemployment, and the highest per capita income in the country. In short, it would become the “flourishing landscape” that Helmut Kohl dreamed of for East Germany.
At present, there is no talk of a surge of Jewish immigrants. Altogether, the numbers are stable—but more and more people are considering leaving Germany. And it’s not hard to understand why. They are increasingly shaken and scared off by the country’s tolerance for Islamist intolerance. Faced with failed immigration policies, Jews feel increasingly insecure and unwanted in Germany. Not only Islam, but Islamism, has invaded the country—and with it, violent antisemitism. Anti-Israel demonstrators burn Israeli flags and cry “death to the Jews” on German streets, and people wearing a kippah or a Star of David have been attacked in public. Pogrom-like events, such as the one in Amsterdam, seem more and more likely. Recently, a survivor of the October 7 Hamas attack in Israel said publicly: “In Germany, it’s October 6.”
We are at risk of this being the shameful final chapter in the story of German-Jewish history. To avoid that from happening, we need more than pieties.?
There are precedents from history and other countries for the program I am proposing. Israel has the Law of Return, which enables all Jews worldwide to enter the country and gain citizenship immediately. The U.S. has not only its O-1 visa for extraordinary ability and achievement but also the Lautenberg Amendment from 1989, which facilitates the immigration of Jews and other religious minorities from the former Soviet Union. And even Germany has a similar provision. Following the collapse of the Soviet Union, many Jews in the successor states were increasingly subject to antisemitism, making many of them emigrate. Germany also became a popular destination after developing a special program in 1991 for Jewish immigrants. Initially, the inflow of Jewish immigrants into Germany was regulated via the so-called “Quota Refugee Law,” which remained in force until 2004, before being replaced by a new immigration law in 2005.
Some may ask: Why should Jews get this kind of special treatment??
There are three obvious reasons:
Put simply, the general criteria could be as follows: Anyone who faces an acute existential threat, or who can contribute to Germany in a meaningful way, can come to Germany. This is not callous, but rather the most effective way to prevent structural xenophobia. In the case of Jewish immigrants, the evidence from around the world makes it clear that Germany would benefit from Jewish immigration.
After his liberation from the concentration camp Theresienstadt in 1945, Rabbi Leo Baeck wrote: “An epoch in history has ended for us Jews in Germany. . . . We believed that the German and Jewish spirit could meet on German soil and, through their marriage, could become a blessing. This was an illusion—the epoch of the Jews in Germany is over once and for all.”
It would be one of the greatest achievements in history to prove this great man wrong. Because the Germany of the German-Jewish symbiosis—the cultural and economic heyday between 1871 and 1933—was the best Germany that ever existed.
The triumph, once again, of antisemitism in this country would mean our collective suicide. Because those who hate and fight Jews always end up hating and fighting themselves. Germany must avoid that fate, and avoid becoming a no-go zone for Jews. Rather, it should become home to Jewish flourishing. Courageous German policymakers should prove Baeck wrong in the twenty-first century. We must make Germany more Jewish again.
The one problem we might then have to worry about: What if no one comes??

Dear Friend,
Citizens are free to say what they think. Subjects aren’t.
Sadly, the question of whether we are citizens or subjects has become politically controversial in our country.
A clear sign of this is the attempt to suppress the expression of obvious truths, such as the fact that boys cannot become girls.
Another sign that many of our leaders consider us subjects is their denial of our right to decide who is allowed to enter our country—indeed, they tell us that if we complain about mass illegal immigration, we are racists.?
This is a pivotal time in our nation’s history—a time when we must stand up and forthrightly demand to be treated as citizens, not subjects.
Because freedom hangs in the balance.
A poisonous ideology has infected almost every major American institution.
Only a few still stand in defense of freedom and the right of self-government.
One of the most important of these is Hillsdale College.
And today, my friends at Hillsdale need your partnership and support in their mission to preserve the blessings of civil and religious liberty through education.
For 180 years, Hillsdale has offered its students the kind of education America’s founders thought necessary to sustain free government.
And in recent decades, Hillsdale has extended its teaching mission nationwide with a vast national outreach effort.
This outreach effort includes its free publication Imprimis, its free online courses, and its tireless work to return excellence—including excellent civics instruction—to American K-12 education.
And Hillsdale College does all of this while refusing to accept one penny of government funding—not even indirectly through federal or state student grants and loans.
That’s why I ask you to take the time to view their video “The Electoral College Explained” below and join Hillsdale in defending freedom and the American way of life. https://info.hillsdale.edu/electoral-college-video

The Electoral College Explained:
Most countries elect their presidents through the popular vote, allowing the PEOPLE to determine their leaders. But, the United States is different:
The United States uses the Electoral College to determine who is President.
The Electoral College is made up by delegates from each State.
When we vote, we are NOT voting for a candidate but for whom our State Electoral Votes will go to in order to get the State behind the candidate of our choice.
This is why, from time to time, someone wins the White House without receiving the popular vote! That has happened twice in just the last 20 years, with George W. Bush in 2000 and Donald J. Trump in 2016.
The majority of Americans DO NOT approve of this system! Why do we still use this system? Because it is indicative of how people are represented in Congress. For example:
Texas has a population of 25,268,000 and has 36 Reps in Congress... plus 2 for senators whereas
Vermont has a population of 630,000 so it gets 3 electoral vote... 1 for the population plus 2 Senators A balance to equate representation throughout the 50 States of the Union
The Elephant is the symbol for Republicans and like many elected officials, when very young, they step on their own path and are called RINOS. We hope that this time around, Trump winning the White House, the Senate and hopefully the House, with a Supreme Court to rule correctly that we right the ship! Paul Volker once said that to right the ship takes a long time because when the bow starts to go to the right, it takes a long time for the stern to follow: Well, NOW IS THE RIGHT TIME, THIS IS THE COUNTRY, MAKE IT HAPPEN!

Are Cayotes harmful? Google answer:
Coyotes are not usually dangerous to adults, but they can be a threat to small children, cats, and small dogs. However, the risk of attack is minimal, and most incidents can be prevented by changing human behavior.
Are Raccoons harmful?
Yes, raccoons can be dangerous to humans and pets as raccoons can carry rabies, a serious virus that affects the brain and is almost always fatal if not treated before symptoms appear.
Other diseases: Raccoons can also carry other diseases, such as leptospirosis, salmonella, and raccoon roundworm, which are found in their urine and feces.
Are Opossums dangerous?
Opossums are generally not dangerous to humans and are not known to be aggressive
Defense Mechanisms: Opossums have several defense mechanisms to protect themselves from predators, including hissing, growling, showing their teeth, drooling and playing dead.
