Ed Tapp, Unleash & Engage and the real meaning of "challenge"
At Unleash & Engage, we think the word “challenge” is often used incorrectly.??When people say “challenge”, they usually mean “problem”, but they’re two very different things.
When we’re called in to help improve manufacturing operations, it’s not because there are “challenges”; it’s because there are problems.??Our coaches then help our clients work out how to solve them.
Ed Tapp is one such coach but what he’s about to face isn’t a problem, it’s a challenge. A real challenge. The kind of challenge that most mere mortals couldn’t even consider.
Ed is about to compete in the TransCanada Bike Race, the hardest and longest self-supported cycle race in the world; 7,770 miles.
Yes,?7,770 miles.
On his own.
On a push bike.
To overcome this or any other challenge, the right mindset is vital. Which is why Ed has set out his own?“15 Elements of Mindset”?to inspire others to achieve their goals.
He maintains that they’re the same principles that guide him in his work with Unleash & Engage.
Whatever you’re doing, he says, the most important element is the belief you can do it.?Whether it’s in business or in your everyday life. Even when your “everyday life” includes cycling 7,770 miles across Canada.
We’ll keep you updated with Ed’s progress and no doubt be “challenging” you to sponsor him.??But look at it this way: compared with what he’s doing, aren’t you glad you’ll only be asked for a donation?
Retired .... for now ??
