Ed Lamont gives gallery talks on?CONTEMPLATING CHARACTER: PORTRAIT DRAWINGS & OIL SKETCHES FROM JACQUES-LOUIS DAVID TO LUCIAN FREUD.?This exhibition can be viewed at the Society of the Four Art's Esther B. O'Keeffe Gallery Building in Palm Beach from February 4 - April 2, 2023. Ed's gallery talks are scheduled for 11:00 am on February 11, 18, and 25; and March 4, 11, 18, and 25.

CONTEMPLATING CHARACTER explores the evolution of portraiture in 81 works on paper by 68 artists.The exhibition encompasses many art styles and movements from late 18th century to today. CONTEMPLATING CHARACTER reveals the challenge of artists meet to accurately portray an individual’s physical appearance and capture the sitter’s personality and soul.

Notable artists include William Merritt Chase, Jacques-Louis David, Edgar Degas, Lucian Freud, Alfred Hitchcock, Thomas Lawrence, and édouard Vuillard among others.
