Hi Everyone and Happy Wednesday! As always thank you to everyone who has subscribed and reads the newsletter each week.
My wife and I recently welcomed our first child, so I'll be taking his week off from reading and writing. BUT I still do have two exciting announcement's and a few info graphs. If you're still reading why not hang around for a few more lines?
Speaking Appearance: Next Monday I'll be appearing on Teachers Talk Radio to speak with Rae Whitehouse on a variety of subjects around education beyond the typical K-12 model largely used today. The show will be recorded live starting at 4pm Monday June 6, 2024. Information to livestream or download after the conversation is below:
??? Date: 03.06.2024 | ?? Time: 4:00pm - 5:00pm EST | ?? www.ttradio.org
I'm writing a book!: I’m excited to share that I’m currently working on a book highlighting K-12 education trends! ?? The goal is to help parents, educator, and students better understand the K-12 landscape. Topics I'm hoping to cover are:
- A (very) broad overview of US K-12 education system/history
- Spending trends and their connection to learning outcomes
- Parents legal rights (federal laws and regulations)- School Choice (Charter, Micro, Private, Public, Homeschooling)
- SEL and Student Mental Health
领英推荐
- "Hot Button" Topics (CRT, "Don't Say Gay" Laws, ect)
- Teacher Pay/ Retention
- Is there a need for education reform and what should it look like?
I'm hoping to provide a simplified overview to help inform, educate, and promote respectful and meaningful conversations around what can otherwise be tricky subjects to navigate. For any passionate individuals with insights to contribute, I'd welcome thoughts from all sides of the political and professional spectrum to join me in shaping the future of education by participating in discussions and sharing valuable information.
L.E.S.S is More!: Ever heard of "Keep it stupid simple and simple stupid"? That advice stuck with me from high school, and now, working in education, I see the power of simplicity. Amid distractions, it's easy to feel overwhelmed. That's why I believe "L.E.S.S" is more in education. Let's keep it simple, have fun, and let learning flow.
How to Delegate: I saw this infograph on LinkedIn this week and thought it was great. Jay Mount did a great job here. Be sure to check out his page and subscribe to his newsletter if you're interested in leadership.
Mindful Workplace:
That's all for this week! Thanks again for reading and please feel free to reach out anytime, I'd love to connect. See you all back here next week when we return to our regularly scheduled newsletter!
