The ECSA vs Engineering VA's saga

At the recent 'Civil Talk' discussion, which took place at the SAICE Head office in Midrand, expert panelists looked at the causes of the ongoing legal case that is taking place between the fifteen Voluntary Associations (VA's) and the Engineering Council of South Africa (ECSA) and what it means for the relationship between these organisations and the impact on the future of professional engineering in South Africa.

The discussion was facilitated by Sean O'Beirne and the four panelists were:

  • Manglin Pillay - SAICE CEO
  • Chris Campbell - CESA CEO
  • Dr Titus Mathe - Former ECSA Council Member
  • Mike Deeks - SAICE Past President

  • What lies ahead for the Engineering Profession in South Africa?
