Ensuring Your E-commerce Setup: Before we begin, ensure your e-commerce setup is complete. Revenue should be visible in your reports. If not, check our troubleshooting article for GA4 e-commerce integration.

Navigating to E-commerce Reports:

Step 1) Go to Monetization > E-commerce > Purchases.

Step 2) Here, you'll find an overview of revenue categorized by products. You can also explore revenue by product category.

Analyzing User Purchase Journey: Next, examine the User Purchase Journey report, which outlines the steps users take before making a purchase. It provides valuable insights into the conversion funnel.

Creating a Custom Transaction ID Report:

Step 1) Click 'Explore' and select 'Blank'.

Step 2) Name your report (e.g., Transaction ID Purchases).

Step 3) Add 'Transaction ID' from Dimensions and 'Product Revenue' (recently renamed) from Metrics.

This report displays transaction IDs along with their corresponding revenues.

Adding Source and Medium Data:

  1. Include 'Source' and 'Medium' in your custom report.
  2. This gives you a breakdown of transaction IDs, along with the sources and mediums associated with each.
