Ecolutions: Plant-Based
It is exciting to see more people embrace a plant-based diet, but are they really getting the healthy food they are looking for?
Many people see the label plant-based as healthy and better for them and the planet but the truth is that many foods that are labeled as plant-based are still highly processed and can have a lot of extra sodium and sugar.
Yes, potato chips are plant-based. Sorry to burst your bubble. Plant-based alone doesn’t make it healthy.
Although highly processed foods like chips, crackers, and cookies may technically be plant-based, these foods won’t provide the health benefits you get from unprocessed and minimally processed choices. And large amounts of added sugars and fat can lead to eating more calories than you need.
Yes, we should also be more mindful of what we eat and where our food comes from. If you have any tips please #comment below. Thanks.

2 年Marie Cote Many of my health coaching clients come to me on a vegan diet which includes a lot of processed junk. They want and NEED to lose weight, reduce blood sugar, cholesterol, and reduce chronic inflammation. The ones who are willing to add more real, clean, whole foods including a rainbow of veggies, wild fish, organic eggs, organic chicken or grass-fed beef are the ones who successfully shed the weight without deprivation. I am a firm believer in a plant-focused or plant-forward diet that includes real, whole foods. Thank you again for sharing these #Morselicious articles! Mac-n-Mo's ??
