An Eco-Resort in the Alps

The Milanese architecture studio Peter Pichler has designed an eco-resort to develop a new concept of hospitality in the European Alpine region. Nicknamed YOUNA Nature Resorts, the complex integrates perfectly with the profile of the landscape, limiting the visual impact. The A-shaped typology allows the large openings of the front facade to connect with nature reaching highly private interiors under one roof. This project represents one of the latest proposals of the studio which continues the experimentation of integration with the landscape
The concept references the idea of a tree house that blends into its natural surroundings. The vertical pitched structure encloses spaces high off the ground on a shrunken footprint like a tree trunk. The use of wood for the structure responds both to a conscious, sustainable and faithful choice to the vast regional tradition of wooden structures.
The A-frame modules comprise a wooden exoskeleton that reinforces the structure while creating a modular internal build and layout. This exoskeleton allows you to maximize the customization of spaces. The wooden facade and the specific orientation supe guarantees protection from sunlight but also maximum privacy

The resort offers cabins ranging from 115 to 218 square meters to accommodate up to six guests. Following the traditional chalet configuration, the treehouses feature double-height gathering spaces and spa-like amenities, including saunas, an integral aspect of life in the European Alpine region.
The designer manifests a radical approach towards sustainability and redefining the typology of the courtyard, the roof of the building has a deep inclination to maximize work spaces with indirect natural light conditions. It is an experience that adds yet another aspect which is to be sustainable but with great attention to integration with the landscape.
