Eco-friendly Village of India?
When you think of villages in India what do you think of ? You think ?? of huts ??? You think of simple living??
But a village in Tamilnadu that has changed the view and given a 180 degree twist.
The Model Village of Odanthurai, Coimbatore.?
In the world ?? where renewable energy, waste to use & plastic free zones are trending ??.India is leading the way in turning these to practicality.
In 2006, Odanthurai village panchayat became the first ?? local body in the country to build its own 350kW windmill.
Odanthurai is the influencer.
All houses in the village look identical they are all greenhouses?
Odanthurai village is an unique example.It is a pure democratization of power. The power is owned by the people, for the people & to the people.
Before 1996- The village had zero development like no drinking water ??, no roads ???, no drainage, no house ??.
But now- Bacteria ?? free Drinking water ??,roads , drainage, solar powered village.
Being just an eco-friendly village,It also utilised all government Schemes like Rajiv Gandhi Scheme, National Water Mission etc.
Still 1/6th?of the World's??? rural population donot have access to electricity ??.But this smart village had overcome it.
Different Professors, bureaucrats are attracted to study the village administration.
