Echoes of Autumn: A Sufi Love Tale
In a bright classroom filled with excitement, the teacher clapped her hands to get the students' attention. “Alright, everyone, settle down. Just a few more classes before the autumn break,” she announced.
Ayesha, sitting in the front row, adjusted her glasses and opened her notebook. Arjun, a few seats behind, was already stealing glances at her. The class continued, but the excitement for the break was palpable.
During the break, the students gathered in groups, chatting and laughing. A popular song started playing, and a few students began to sing along.
Arjun, with a mischievous grin, walked over to Ayesha. “Hey, Ayesha, join us! You have a lovely voice,” he said, extending his hand.
Ayesha blushed, shaking her head. “No, I’m not very good at singing.”
Arjun laughed. “Come on, just for fun!” He started singing, directing the lines towards her. The whole class noticed and giggled, except Ayesha, who remained oblivious.
The bell rang, signaling the end of the break. As everyone headed back to their seats, Arjun noticed Ayesha struggling with her school bag. He quickly stepped in. “Here, let me help you,” he offered, lifting her bag with ease.

“Thank you, Arjun,” Ayesha said softly, surprised by his kindness.
Over the next few days, Arjun found more reasons to be around Ayesha. “Hey, Ayesha, can you help me with my language lessons? I’m not as good as you,” he asked one day.
Ayesha looked puzzled. “But you’re the class topper, Arjun. You don’t need my help.”
“Everyone needs help sometimes,” he replied with a smile, sitting down next to her.
As the autumn break approached, their interactions became more frequent. However, the break finally came, and they had to part ways.
Years later, as adults, they found themselves reminiscing about those days. Ayesha often stood quietly, reading the messages that souls leave on the air, longing for those past moments. She missed those glances, songs, and walks.
The Sufi message here is simple: People are beautiful if you see beyond the exterior. When time flies, you’ll hold on to someone, but they might be gone.
