Federal Funding Update:?Takeaways from Recent CFI Awards

On August 27, the Federal Highway Administration announced $521 million in funding for 51 EV charging projects across 30 states. The awards, part of the Charging and Fueling Infrastructure (CFI) Discretionary Grant Program, focus on expanding access to charging in rural areas, disadvantaged communities, and multi-unit dwellings. To date, the EC has supported more than 150 CFI applications through educational collateral, one-on-one consultations, and office hours to support public partners through the process. New EC Resource: How Cities Can Drive Transportation Electrification

The EC recently contributed to the Charging Smart Communities Program, a collaborative effort to help cities and counties drive transportation electrification. Read our top five takeaways from the program.

The Fleet Decarbonization Accelerator—hosted by the Breaking Barriers Collaborative and supported by the EC—is here to help. This hands-on cohort program will equip your business with a decarbonization action plan, a business case for a cost-effective transition, and a network of peers and experts to support you and your organization moving forward. Over 40 diverse organizations, including small organizations like the Seattle Aquarium and large corporations like Boeing, McKinstry, and Skanska, have made plans to decarbonize their fleets through this program.?Enrollment for the Winter 2025 cohort is now open.

Electric Freight Consortium & Port Electrification Network

In a special joint event, both Electric Freight Consortium (EFC) and Port Electrification Network (PEN)?members were invited to the PEN monthly meeting on August 28 to hear from the White House Climate Policy Office about federal priorities for medium- and heavy-duty vehicle electrification and opportunities for engagement for our partners.?
