NHS partnering with retail e-commerce to provide PPE Platform
Non-acute health providers will be supported with technology and resources from eBay to enable PPE requests.
The new NHS portal, which has been created by eBAY will provide primary and social care providers with access to PPE for free via the NHS supply chain.
eBay will work with the NHS Supply Chain, the Department for Health and Social Care (DHSC) and the Army and Ministry of Defence (MoD) to create an online portal to help ease the pressure of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) distribution.

Digital PPE coordination system implemented in Jersey
The Government of Jersey set the challenge for a new portal to be created to help with PPE distribution. An online technology provider, TSG, managed to create one in 48 hours. The new system has now been launched across Jersey to support more than 200 healthcare providers process, coordinate, and access PPE.

Drone delivered £2.6 Million PPE pledged by UK Government

UK Space Agency and European Space Agency
Joint initiative between the UK and European space agencies. The space agencies will initially support potential deployment of medical drones. The drones have previously been tested by the Royal Navy and Anduril Industries. The new funding will ensure latest innovations can support the NHS in tackling COVID-19 on the frontline.
Other space enabled solutions are welcome and these could include satellite communications or satellite navigation, which could help support healthcare provisions for frontline staff. The initiative welcomes any technology that enables the effective use of drone technology to deliver test kits and personal protective equipment (PPE) to the frontline.

3D printing company raises $8 Million

Azul 3D, a Skokie based, 3D company in USA recently raised $8 million from an undisclosed set of investors. Azul 3D, launched by James Hedrick et. al manufacture 3D printers that rapidly print customisable structures
Amid the coronavirus crisis, the company has started printing personal protective equipment like medical face shields. Currently the company is now able to print 1,000 face shields a day when running non-stop. The company will use the funds to improve their growing and rapid printing technology. They will also recruit senior-level employees to aid the building of their manufacturing facility.
