Eating slowly reduces sugar/insulin spikes.
Hola amigos!
Eating slowly is an important habit to get into if you want to keep your blood sugar and insulin levels in check. Eating too quickly can cause spikes in both, leading to a host of health issues. But how exactly does eating slowly help reduce these spikes??
When we eat too quickly, our bodies don't have enough time to process the food properly before it enters the bloodstream. This causes a sudden surge of glucose and insulin that can lead to serious health problems like diabetes or heart disease over time. On the other hand, when we take our time while eating meals, our digestive system has more than enough time for digestion which helps regulate glucose and insulin levels naturally throughout the day.?
Another benefit of taking your sweet (pun intended) old-time with meals is that it gives you more control over what you're consuming - allowing you to make healthier choices about portion sizes as well as ingredients used in recipes! Eating slower also allows us better appreciate all flavours involved within each meal - something that's often overlooked when rushing through dinner!??
?So next mealtime, try slowing down just a bit – not only will this help regulate those pesky sugar/insulin spikes and give us mental clarity but it reduces cortisol production leading to better sleep quality & improved emotional well-being too!
