Starting On Thursday 27th?October for 4 weeks, we will be launching Wessex Heartbeat’s Healthy Heart Cookery Classes, designed to teach the benefits of introducing plant ‘pure’ based cookery.

The majority of recipes will come from "PlantPure Nation", a healthy eating campaign established in 2015 by Kim and Nelson Campbell. Their goal is to help more people experience the benefits of a whole food, plant-based lifestyle through its line of food products and other educational programming.

I have also completed their excellent seminar on the subject and our team, plus some supporters, also took part in a trial of a recommended healthy eating plan which was met with huge success.

So why are we doing this? Research has proven that eating a plant-based diet, which mostly includes fruits, vegetables, nuts, beans, and whole grains, is extremely good for your heart.

That's why we want to help educate as many people as possible to eat better and ultimately improve heart health. Our classes will teach our participants some fantastic recipes as well as also be teaching you how to cook with no additional oils. We already know that by adding this type of cooking into your life you can cut your odds of getting heart disease, high cholesterol, high blood pressure, and type 2 diabetes.???

We are certainly not advocating everyone becomes vegetarian or vegan, we are looking to teach our local heart community?to help inform and implement healthier decisions. Just by replacing one or two meals a week with a plant-based recipe will be a huge step in the right direction.?

There will be lots of food education and some fun, we are also looking to introduce wellbeing sessions in the future which we are hugely excited about.

The course is already oversubscribed and will be starting new classes in January 2023.?
