Eat Right to your Best Shape
Hi my dear friends,
I had started this 3rd article a week ago, I wrote 3 times, with 3 different approach to share the topic of dieting to lose fats / weight & stay in best shape. I scrapped them off after I started half way. Why?
I realized it is "simple" (to me) but there isn't any "easy & quick" way to write all I practice in practical life for myself and all the clients I working with. I want to do my very best to help you and not just putting up theories that all of us can google search.
WHY Diets don't work?
Often, those people who want to lose weight that I talk to, had gone through three to five types of diets, if not more, in their lifetime.?They had made dieting their annual agenda.?The thought of “this time it will work, this time it will be different” is in their mind every time they start a new diet.?The cycle continues of starting a new diet, losing some weight, then, the eventual rebound of weight gain, often to a point higher than pre-diet levels.
Many of my clients I worked with were instructed to focus only certain types of food, counting calories of each food they consumed, or even skipped one or two of their meals. Dieting slows their metabolism!?And, often such dieting usually became a stepping-stone to eating disorders later.
What I meant Best Shape here includes Best state of Mental & Physical Health while maintaining Best Body Shape.

Often, weight loss is 70% about diet and 30% workout.?
The key here is consistency, to sustain the weight you lost through diet & workout.?Like what I shared last month about what exercise to stay fit, my advice is choose an activity you LOVE so that you can keep doing it without feeling bored.?
Same rules apply to diet.?
We are human being, the diet rules must be humane as well – meaning a right approach of dieting is not starving yourself or severely limiting your food choices.

The RIGHT approach is eating healthy, well-balanced meals that meet your body’s nutritional requirements while keeping your calorie count under control.
How to practice Eat Right to Lose Weight?
1) Follow the “Healthy Eating Food Pyramid” guide as you pick your food.?Eat Right Food and Eat Right Portion.
The Right Portion that is, right servings per food depends on your age & gender and others, example, a growing up children and young teens requires to eat more grains than elderly.

2) ?Keep your Calories Count under control by learning healthier way of cooking.
You don’t have to count calories of every food you consume; however, it is helpful to aware whether the food you consume contains excessively unnecessary calories.?Example, Deep fried chicken and stir-fried chicken with garlic.?Which one is a better choice in term of calories and protein quality?
3) Learn to establish healthy relationship with Food
When you practice mindful eating, higher chance you will realize every food taste really good without excessive seasoning with sugar and oil.
4) Stay Away from junk Food
Avoid all processed food like chips, carbonated drinks, and even biscuits that are labelled with “healthy snacks”.
"Healthy snacks" is a common misconception as they contain sugars and trans fats.
Instead, take small portion of nuts (almond for example) if you want to snack in late morning or afternoon.
Eating a balance diet is the first step towards losing weight and gain energy.?Most importantly, it is sustainable??
Afterall, none of us want to put Losing Weight as an annual New Year Resolution.
