Eat The Frog- Book Application
Life is amazing for working parents, we never can get bored. We don’t have the time. Though among so many tasks our kids suffers the most.
I was wondering that will Mr. Mittal or Mr. Ambani made their clones when they became fathers. I asked my mentor and he told me to follow information. Read books on time management he said. This book is what I read and applied!
Last night’s party was still on my mind and the presentation next week was giving me headache. Was headache due to presentation? No, Not really. I had a dozen items like kiddo’s school fees, weekly grocery shopping which was pending due to party, car service, bike service, tax return filing for 2018-19 and on and on and on. Alone guy and nothing I can delegate.
I am always worried what will I do after 60 when I will be too free.
What’s my life’s goal and mission and will I ever do anything towards those goals? May be after 60?
What are the activities I needed to do which will help me feel more satisfied and complete?
I started with making a list of things I wanted to do in my life. I want to be an expert in fields affecting our life, technology, parenting, marriage counselling, organic farming, wild life photography, kids’ activities, write a book, an endless list.
When will I do all this? When?
#lists
As of today I had no time, but I made that list finally. Similarly I made a list for monthly activities I wanted to do, in a separate sheet. Then a weekly list. I divided these wish lists in sub-activities and smaller tasks.
#deadline
I gave a deadline to each task. I then noted consequences of not doing this task which will affect the complete chain leading to my wish list activity.
I cannot leave this task/wish list unattended. I can let TV go. I can let social chats on what’s-up go. Suddenly some of the activities themselves went back or got innovated. Most important tasks on wish list went to A* category and some routines fell back in B* and C* categories. Rest were D* and E* were left unattended. School fees was done online by my wife. Grocery shopping was shifted to APP shopping from smartphone. And Dell battery will be purchased when my home system will finally not start.
I kept asking myself what value I am going to deliver for what I am getting paid.
What am I delivering for getting the satisfaction for my wish list tasks?
Am I creating my legacy?
Am I concentrating on the things which really excite me?
I asked myself what are most important 3 things for me?
Health, Family, Career. 99% people answer these only. What are 3 most important things in each of them? Make them your goals and work on it in your monthly, weekly and daily lists. Prompt action, immediate action is required at all times. Plan and Immediate action.
All the activities found a place in my daily tasks sheet. Action on each task is most important and planning and Immediate Action is most important. Plan and Immediate Action Again. Check Status and Plan again and Immediate Action. Everything actually started falling in place.
This Book talks aloud about, sharpening and upgrading key skills, passionate objectives as I found book reading and using is one of my passions. Find out what problems you may face while achieving your goals. I needed to prepare in advance before I wrote this application, I read this book 3 times before reviewing. I created tasks and sub-tasks for this article and put deadlines to it and I cut myself from all distraction technology and what's up chats had to offer to write it down fast and finished it in one seating.
Task's category.
*A Most important tasks
*B Mild consequences tasks
*C Low priority tasks,
*D Tasks to be delegated,
*E Tasks which can be eliminated
