Easy Water Commissions Solar-Powered Water Station at Kwaku Bodomkrom
Easy Water for Everyone
Providing clean drinking water in rural areas with contaminated water sources and no power.
Easy Water for Everyone brought immense joy and satisfaction as they unveiled their inaugural solar-powered water station in Opanin Kwaku Bodomkrom, a community adjacent to Kenyasi in the Asutifi North District of Ghana's Ahafo region. The event boasted a distinguished presence, including Dr. Nathan Levin and Rev. Seth Johnson , President and Vice President of #EasyWater, along with key personnel like Harrison Kwame Matti (Country Director), Linda Donald (Secretary), and Safia Porter (Head of Marketing).
The elation was palpable among the elderly, women, men, and children who united to witness this historic moment. The clouds made way for a gentle rain, seemingly nature's affirmation of the occasion. "At last, the chance to savor clean, drinkable water," encapsulated the sentiments of Opanin Kwaku Bodomkrom's residents as they beheld the pure water flowing from their community's sole tap.
During a visit earlier in the year, the local inhabitants passionately implored #EasyWater for assistance. They recounted the prolonged impact of waterborne illnesses on their children's education and their own economic power, eroded by frequent hospital visits. The dire situation even forced some to migrate to other areas due to the contamination of their water source.
In a swift response to their urgent plea, #EasyWater promptly installed an innovative solar-powered water filtration system. This cutting-edge technology, meeting the stringent standards of the World Health Organization, purifies 1000 liters of water per hour. The system's reach extends beyond Kwaku Bodomkrom, serving neighboring communities in the enclave.
