Working Remotely: 6 Easy Steps

I’ve been working remotely for over 10 years. It can be highly productive provided you stay disciplined and have some simple tools and techniques to make it work. Just think of all the wasted time driving or commuting that you could use to grow your business. I can manage my business from the office, laptop, or device in my back pocket. I have easy access to information and can communicate with my clients and network from any device, anywhere, at any time. Here’s how to do it:

1.      Set-up your Desktop PC, Laptop PC, Smartphone, and tablet all as equal devices with the same apps and programs

2.      Add skype, slack or other communication tools on all devices

3.      Set-up email access on every device for all of your email addresses

4.      Set-up the same web browsers with the same bookmarks and stored passwords on all devices, I have IPad running google chrome so it matches up with my other windows and Android devices

5.      Set-up could storage for all of your files with access from all of your devices (I like dropbox and went totally cloud with all of my files about 3 years ago and it works magnificently)

6.      Utilize an online meeting program that can be accessed by all devices
