IT IS EASY TO EXPORT HUNTING TROPHIES OUT OF ZIMBABWE
The following key points enable a hunting client to hunt and recover his or her trophies in Zimbabwe;
1. The Safari Operator conducting the hunt should be registered and licenced with the Zimbabwe Tourism Authority. 2. Should hold Public Liability Insurance.3. The operator must employ registered, licenced Professional Hunters to conduct hunts. 4. The Operator should be bona fide ask thus to have ZTA Licence number. 5. Hunting Operator should operate legally on a sustainable quota basis, with Cites approval.
All the above documentation is bundled and put on the TRANS 2 which is monitored by national parks and by Reserve Bank of Zimbabwe. The hunting deposit money should go through the bank or to be declared on the point of entry for the documentation to be acquitted upon the exportation of trophies.
Hunting areas were pioneered in Zimbabwe which involve indigenous communities in the financial benefits from hunting. It has proved successful in addressing land degradation and poaching; hence the system is now used widely in Africa.
