Easy Food Swaps for a Healthier Fall

Sticking to nutritious and balanced meals is one of my family’s biggest challenges this time of year. There are just too many temptations – like the Halloween candy bowl, which is then quickly followed by the dozens of favorite holiday cookies and candies we all love.
At the National Pork Board, we want to help kids and teens start out on the right path and learn how to make good food choices. So, we partnered with Young Minds Inspired to create tools and lesson plans for schools. These resources teach kids where their food comes from and how it affects their bodies. Each lesson helps them learn as they explore fun food and nutrition concepts. To help reinforce the concepts presented in the lesson plans and bring the ideas to life, we will be creating videos so kids can cook-a-long with us and join us on edible adventures.
Adults can benefit from these healthy eating ideas too. People of all ages are likely to indulge more this season, and we can help the entire family find balance in their diet through easy meal plan ideas featuring balanced choices and healthy swaps.
Retailers, packers and foodservice operators can incorporate these ideas into fall marketing and promotion plans, too.
