Eastside K-Izzy and 7012E
K-Izzy is an artist from Louisiana whose music goes completely against the grain of other artists that I’ve heard from the state. It isn’t all about the gold chains and trap house anthems that I’m overly use to hearing as soon as an artist tells me they are from Louisiana and his track K-Izzy- Just My Thoughts (Official Music Video) is a prime example of what I mean. K-Izzy keeps delivering lyrics and visuals as such and will indeed garner the attention of those near and far with his slowed down and articulated flow. Upon meeting him he is very quiet and observant, as our first encounter was at SXSW this year where we met off 6th St and he slowly but confidently handed me a few copies of his latest project "K-Izzy McFly". I asked K-Izzy who he was turnt up for and he said “I do this for all the fly people, all the guys and chicks who just like to get dressed up and enjoy looking good." But the music isn't all about looking good or partying. K-Izzy has an arsenal of stories to share and is guaranteed to give those who thought there was only one type of sound coming from Louisiana a run for their money. "When We Ride" prod. Mr.EightFour is another spring release by K-Izzy that I’m enjoying rotating this summer and even if you’ve never heard of K-Izzy when the song comes on you’re guaranteed a ride out sensation.
