Eastern Washington University Among New Investments Announced by Asuris' Corporate Foundation
Earlier this month, Asuris Northwest Health’s corporate foundation, Cambia Health Foundation, announced new grant funding for eight partner organizations in Washington, Utah, Oregon and Idaho. Eastern Washington University is one of the recipients of funding – the investment will help support the implementation and expansion of the university’s Behavioral Health Support Specialist Certification program. This program enables students to receive advanced behavioral health and integrated care training that prepares them to provide psychological interventions for patients experiencing low levels of depression, anxiety and other conditions.
All grant recipients are working to address the behavioral health care workforce shortage as well as increase access to care. These investments are part of the Foundation’s Health Care Workforce program, which focuses on expanding, diversifying and training the workforce to reduce?behavioral health workforce shortages?in our region. This effort is part of a larger vision to?advance equity?through whole-person health across Idaho, Oregon, Utah and Washington. The Foundation partners with organizations that are addressing the root causes of provider shortages as well as creating innovative approaches that expand access to care within whole-person care models.?
