East to West, Down-under. Literally.

Circumstances can often change in unexpected ways, leading us to new places and experiences. For example, I started off in Sydney in 2015, but by 2019 I had moved to Melbourne. And now, I find myself welcoming 2023 in Perth. Each move has brought new challenges and opportunities and has allowed me to grow and learn in ways that I never would have if I had stayed in the same place. These changes in circumstances have also exposed me to new people, cultures, and experiences, enriching my life in countless ways. While change can be difficult, it can also lead to exciting new adventures and growth.

As a student, I had the opportunity to live in Australia for two years between 2015 and 2017. During that time, I worked at Sofitel Sydney Wentworth hotel, which was a challenging and rewarding experience. Balancing work and studies was not always easy, especially as a foreigner in a new country. But I found that the skills and knowledge I gained from my job were invaluable and helped me to excel in my studies. I also had the chance to meet and work with people from all over the world. #Bonjour

In 2017, I graduated with a bachelor's degree and was presented with an exciting opportunity to work at the Four Seasons hotel in Sydney. This position offered better career prospects and the chance to learn from some of the best in the industry. Working with some of the best people in the business. I was fortunate to have a fantastic mentor, Myron Ting JP , who helped me grow as a professional. Myron, thank you. The experience at the Four Seasons was exceptional and unlike anything I had encountered in the past decade in the industry. The work was challenging and the hours were long?#CRUNCHCAPTAIN, but I found it to be incredibly rewarding. I was able to learn new skills and gain valuable experience, and I was constantly pushed to grow and improve. While the work was tough, I would do it again in a heartbeat. Overall, my time at the Four Seasons was a defining moment in my career, and I will always be grateful for the opportunity.

My short stint with Mansion Hotel and Spa was a bittersweet experience in a good way. As 2IC, I got a taste of what it was like to be in a leadership role, and I found that I really enjoyed it. The experience inspired me to aim higher and pursue my ambitions. While it was sad to leave Mansion hotel, I was grateful for the encounter. It was, in a way, a checkpoint on my career path that showed me I am heading in the right direction.

Motivated and charged with ambition, I enrolled in a Master's degree program. This required me to balance my studies with work at the Radisson hotel, so I found myself studying and working again. Simultaneously, I joined the Australian chapter of the AICR and dedicated my time to connecting people, networking and building relationships. I met many awesome and highly connected individuals like Sevag Keroghlian and was able to grow my professional network in Australia significantly. Time flew by so quickly that I could barely recall much of it.

My work at the Radisson Hotel was unexpectedly enlightening, appointed by a familiar face Ellen Collins , an awesome leader, the #people there were what mattered the most to me. I valued the relationships I built with them, they were the highlight of my time at the hotel above everything else. Shoutout to the?#RadTeam!

As I start out with Crown Perth today. I am filled with excitement and anticipation. I am glad to be working in a high-caliber environment that will allow me to hone my skills and grow as a hotelier. I am grateful for all of the experiences and opportunities that have brought me to this point in my career, and I am eager to see what lies beyond the horizon. Once again, a familiar face Pratik Sunil Raval has placed me here. #thankyou. I am confident that this new chapter in my career will be full of challenges and rewards, and I cannot wait to see what the future holds. Strike while the iron is hot.

To my fellow hospo workers;

“To serve people takes dignity and intelligence. But remember, they are only people with money. And although we serve them, we are not their servants. What we do, Miss Ventura, does not define who we are. What defines us is how well we rise after falling.”??- Maid in Manhattan (2002) BOB HOSKINS as Butler Lionel Bloc.
