Good morning LinkedIn family, trust you well. How was your week? Happy Father's Day to all the fathers out there, we celebrate you today.
Having a brand gets you 10x ahead of your peers. Nowadays, simply having a CV is not enough. This brings back so many memories of when I first started on LinkedIn. I had no experience and felt completely hopeless. Creating content has shown to be one effective strategy. There are over 2000 graduates in my field, and we all share one thing in common: THAT PAPER. The important question I had to ask myself was, "What is my selling value proposition" in comparison to the other 2000 graduates?
I started writing articles about what I had learned in university because it was all I knew - the book. I started talking about my personal experiences in university. I discovered that many companies are more INTERESTED in what you can do for them than what you have. They don't really care about where you obtained your qualification or if you were an A student. My content focused so much on how I could be an asset to their companies. The following year, I received MANY messages from CEOs and managers inviting me to join their companies. It was a dream come true and till date I received those messages.
Have you heard of the term "survival of the fittest"? LinkedIn is a long-term game. Someone recently commented, "You're lucky". There is no luck; you put in 100% the work. If you expect to see results in six months, you're in the wrong place. Remember that you are dealing with qualified experts who are not easily impressed, and some of them have been in the game for a long time. You must be clear about your goals and be willing to see your goals coming into fruition.

To those who have asked, how did I get this far? I did not give up during the first year. It was difficult at first, but having a brand has made my life lot easier. I receive opportunities in my mailbox. My own brand has become more of a magnet, attracting opportunities.
Keep going.
NB: I am writing my first e-book, I can't wait to share my journey with you all.

9 个月Nobesuthu Mahlangu you provided a very great tip, I've had Linkedin for many years now, and I overlooked its potential until last year, now I am learning a lot from other users on how to present yourself on this platform and growing ideas as well. Most of all it keeps me motivated to want to achieve more than I have ever imagined. Thank you so much for the tip.
