Recruitment scam suspects' properties traced in probe
Key suspects in the Sh1 billion First Choice Recruitment Agency scam have been linked to money laundering, with properties bought with the proceeds of the fraud. The Assets Recovery Agency (ASA) has revealed that the suspects used proxies to register properties in Nairobi, Eldoret and Machakos. Investigators have also identified 21 vehicles linked to the scheme and are tracing the movement of more than Sh300 million from several accounts. The Senate heard that more suspects are being profiled, with the agency requesting 90 days to complete the investigation. Labour CS Alfred Mutua confirmed that the recruitment agency had been deregistered.
