Earth won't be the same again.
A first hand experience for our generation on balance and responsibility.

Earth won't be the same again.

The amount of research power in the world, we will eventually defeat  Covid-19. But it won’t be science alone, human spirit has to remain strong too. We have to believe in this.

But we also have to understand that the world will never be the same ever again now.

The World Health Organization (WHO) has to become the main leader for this new world now, this new generation is learning first hand now how easily life can change what balance in life actually means. WHO believes that it can orchestrate, lead, and manage a global, multilateral response to the pandemic?

This ideology has to be supported and Health should become the utmost importance for the world while keeping the politics and global diplomacy in backbench now for a while.

Recent history has shown that it is largely the African countries that have been open to following WHO’s lead. In this particular case, WHO’s handling of the crisis when it first emerged had been in believing the country leaders and taking their statement for final decisions, which eventually popped out be sharing of wrong information, and eventually dented the WHO credibility. We know if who wants, they have a clear examinations and not be taking anybody’s statement as final decision but rather have proofs themselves.

Most countries have now taken their own strategies to control this pandemic; many have banned international travel and closed borders on their own (without checking with WHO, as they promised to in an agreement they signed after the Sars scare). The vaccine development has become an international competition between countries – the 21st century tht was till now having the race of reach far steps in space is now on a race to develop antidotes that citizens get the advantage of early vaccination.

But is this way really going to help the Human race survive. I mean race between countries to Develop vaccinations separately? Why? , Everyone should be in the same page for now.

The response to the pandemic, will not anymore be National, but International.

And once we have defeated Covid-19 – we have to believe we will – it is certain that the world has to take measures we think will ensure that we never find ourselves in the situation in which we currently find ourselves. To reach this goal it is very important to have a Health organization to lead the world, whose sole objective has been to health. WHO is that organization I believe can lead us to a safer live.

Unfortunately, the chances are that this response will not only be about vaccine development or early warning systems for pandemics, but also about generating the basics of social responsibility in every individuals. Covid-19 is 3 Node virus, which means 1 person spreads it to 3 more and then those 3 spread to 6 more and the chain continues. Social distancing, Understanding the importance of personal space will have to somehow become a legal rule for the society.

What more will it be about?

1-Every country will start hoarding strategic resources at a national level. It could be oil; it could be lithium; or it could be medical equipment and drugs. Expect every country in the world to start building reserves of these, and also encouraging (and perhaps mandating) their companies to start manufacturing these – locally. This can be interpreted as a selfish move but rather a system to follow to avoid the future crisis. This hoarding system will not only help the country to run stably while a pandemic but will have enough resources for the public to avoid unwanted riots that usually happen in these scenarios.

2-Borders will become harder, and while that’s likely to change after the crisis, they are not going to go back to where they were before. Indeed, open borders in Europe are being cited by some experts as one reason why Covid-19 has ravaged the continent. Even before the virus emerged, many countries had started clamping down on immigrants, whom they saw as a drain on their resources. Now, they will also see them as possible carriers of infections such as Covid-19. Expect it to be tougher to travel; and even tougher to migrate.

3-There will be a new world order that all countries will try to fit into. Any country that manages to come out of Covid-19 relatively unhurt, or quickly, will find itself at the high table of such an order. This will help WHO to understand the steps taken in that specific country was how effective and how to implement the same in the most affected places. It’s too early to predict which will, though. Surely now China has had zero cases of local infections for several days running, but will there not be a second wave when businesses reopen and travel restrictions are lifted? The US looks like it is at risk of being overrun by the virus, but can it pull off a miracle? New York is already on the verge of running out of Medical supplies. And what of India?

4-It is likely that countries (at least some of them) will continue monitoring the health and movement of their citizens – something many of them are doing now. What form this will take is still not clear, but there’s already some talk that Covid-19 has accelerated the emergence of the surveillance state.
