Coming back to my native gave me fresh perspective and eased down the rush mindset cultivated in the city over the years. When policies of Government comes knocking at your door, it address the change in time.

One such interaction was with Haritha karma Sena under the Kerala Government.

The Haritha Karma Sena collects non-biodegradable waste from houses and establishments to shredding units for recycling.? The waste is segregated into different sections based on its features. H.M White, P.P, H.M, LDPrint, Bajar, Ganny, Bulb, PVC, steel, tubes, bottle, E- waste, LD(Glucose), Bottle caps, Spray bottle etc. According to the mission, the shredded plastic is being given to the local bodies for road tarring by Clean Kerala Company.? Each Kudumbashree worker will visit? minimum 250 houses to collect non-biodegradable waste. The collection will be based on user fee. The manufacture of environment-friendly materials, maintenance of waste disposal mechanism, organic farming, environment-friendly equipment on rent? and compost making and associated works will be taken up by Haritha Karma Sena members.

Equipped with technology, there are many more milestones to achieve. With 777 ward under the district of Kasargod, there are 1500 Haritha Karma Sena members. With a nominal charge ranging from Rs 50 - 100.They have a smile on their face and enquire how are things going with activities of the farm for labour she enquired ?

Informed i've revived the job card under MNREGA and brought fruit plants to be cultivated. I'm due to have a follow up on this with the village officer soon.Experiencing and learning the rural lifestyle has taught me one thing PATIENCE.
