??Earth intelligence paves the way for a Climate neutral future!
Erwin Goor
Project Officer, Environmental observation at European Commission - European Research Executive Agency
Environmental observations, for example from satellites, ground-based systems or citizen science campaigns, provide data and insights on our changing Earth system. This knowledge is the basis for evidence-based decision-making in various economic sectors, e.g. agriculture and fishery, as well as in local authorities and emergency services.
Achieving these ambitious targets requires active participation and engagement from citizens, policymakers and businesses alike. To provide actionable information, we need data and models regarding the state and evolution of the Earth system as a whole, and also its various parts such as urban centres, forests and farmland. This is where environmental observations come in.?
Today, we present 11 EU Funded projects that provide tools & services tailored to serve this purpose: https://cordis.europa.eu/article/id/451841-earth-intelligence-paves-the-way-for-a-climate-neutral-future.
