A poultry business discharges a number of elements which, if not managed properly, can adversely affect the living in the vicinity. Under the project Trash Encash, the research and development team at Skylark Group has adopted a self-devised scientific method to convert poultry by-products into a natural and non-polluting source of energy in the form of organic manure and efficient electricity without adding any chemical agent. This model ensures zero waste discharge in its entire process

This organic manure is rich in minerals and much productive for the farmers. The electricity generated from the waste is used to meet internal power requirements.

The power generation model from poultry waste in not only environment friendly rather it also offers business viability. On-farm energy consumption is a major expense. Ventilation, heating, feeding, etc. are direct energy consumption factors while feed production is an indirect consumption factor. Approximately 2.1 KWH power per bird can be generated from its waste as compared to 3.1 KWH power consumed during the life of a layer parent chicken. With 90% reduction in pollution, the biogas model operated under the anaerobic model has potential to transform the outlook of the poultry industry worldwide.

The Skylark Group has set-up biogas plants in Haryana, Rajasthan and Chhattisgarh at several locations.
