Earth Day Reminds Us of Our Responsibility to Mother Earth

Happy Earth Day!??

What is it? A day of action to change human behaviour and create global, national and local policy changes.??

Why do we need it? While governments around the globe are enacting many significant green policy initiatives, nearly every country in the world is not on track to meet greenhouse gas neutrality by 2050. Immediate and significant action is needed now to keep global warming below 1.5C.??

What’s the focus in 2023? Invest in Our Planet is the focus of Earth Day’s 2023 campaign, highlighting the urgent need to invest in a green economy for a healthy and equitable future. It calls on all businesses, governments, and civil society to play their part in accelerating this change.??

• Businesses, investors and financial markets must drive green innovation and practices. The private sector has the power to deliver the necessary scale and with speed.??
• Governments must incentivize citizens, communities and organisations to adopt a greener economy and infrastructure to tackle the climate crisis and increase energy security.??
• Individuals as voters and consumers must keep demanding sustainable green solutions across all aspects of their lives.??
