Earth Day and Activities on ESG Principles

In line with Earth Day, this week's newsletter takes a look into our work on ESG principles in the last week:

  • Workshop on ESG Principles in Business Strategy with PICG and K-Electric
  • Presentation on Net Zero Transition at the Margalla School on Energy and Climate

On April 18th, CERB along with the Pakistan Institute of Corporate Governance: PICG (Official) conducted a session on ESG Principles in Business Strategy for K-Electric . The session focused on investor, regulatory, and IFRS S1 and S2 risks and opportunities for KE along with ESG governance which was covered by Mr. Memosh Khawaja, CEO of PICG. Other modules included transitioning to a green economy and understanding opportunities through green funding for utilities.

CERB supports companies in their ESG journeys by conducting training sessions, creating case studies and roadmaps, and supporting corporates in ESG reporting. If your company is interested in working with CERB on ESG, please email us at [email protected].

This Earth Day, the focus is on "Planet vs. Plastics." This topic is particularly important for Pakistan, as the country has one of the highest rates of mismanaged plastic in South Asia. Businesses, governments, and individuals need to take charge and focus on sustainable initiatives and practices. Climate action and environmental stewardship are strategic areas for CERB. We work with the private sector on various initiatives focusing on water stewardship, circular economy, clean energy, air quality management, and carbon accounting. You can find more information regarding these projects on our website.

CERB was invited by Renewables First to present on Net Zero Transition to the first cohort of the Margalla School on Energy & Climate . The Margalla School of Energy and Climate is a two-week residential training course being offered to early-career professionals and final-year students who are interested in pursuing a career in energy or climate policy.
