September is a special month for us. It's our birthday month, and this year ProEarth turned 8 years young! We spent time discussing milestones, our stepping stones Our well-wishers and team gathered to wish us for the best, and we put together a zero-waste birthday party for everyone!
Ganesh Chaturthi got us thinking of all the Nirmalya that can be managed easily at our homes, replenishing the soil with the holy flowers. We thought hard, and launched Compotlil - a magic microbe which composts flowers without any smell. We collaborated with like minded folks at Truly Desi , who rolled it out to their customers to get more people to manage their Nirmalya. With festive season and mindful customers growing - Compotli is an easy solution to manage our nirmalya at home!
With Vighnahartha's blessings, we also had an eventful 2 days at the Science Conclave at Ahmedabad accompanying our mentors at Know How Foundation . Bakasur, our beloved Rakshas Composte caught much attention! The easy home composting solution which eats 1 kg of waste, and gives you 50 kgs of vegetables annually - soon became the much talked about Rakshas at the conclave. Honorable Minister Jitu Vaghani ji also visited our stall, and interacted with us for a few minutes discussing how this can be part of Swach Bharath Mission 2.0.
Our team loves composting and believes in preserving pristine biodiversity hotspots. So when Camp Temghar - a popular eco-resort called us to set up their compost pit - how could we say no? We are proud of the owner Rajan who went the extra mile and did his part to keep the place clean and green.

Thanks to INECC and Dr. Priyadarshini Karve who identified us as Zebras green disruptors), we got the opportunity to present our work to social impact investors with the potential to scale up. The opportunity was great and to have other fellow social green enthusiasts like Priyadarshan Sahasrabuddhe , Elizabeth Yorke also share the platform and talk about their impact.
Belawde Gram Panchayat joined our Zero Waste Tribe, giving us the official contract for managing their dry waste. What has been enriching is to see the community come together alive and storing heir dry waste for a few days, before they drop it at our centre. After 8 years, it sure feels like homecoming! We hope to support villages like Belawde, who are setting the benchmark for others!
Talking about trash definitely comes second nature to us. And we had three wonderful opportunities to talk to many others who wish to transform their campuses. MIT-WPU School of Public Policy invited us for a conversation with their students on waste management as an entrepreneurship opportunity. Shivam Singh , Sathya Natarajan invited us at the Green Campus Program. Another opportunity was about talking to residents at Dhankawdi ward, about our affordable service.
With both Pune Municipal Corporation and Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation implementing the rules on managing wet waste, we'll continue supporting citizens on the transition to making their living environment smarter, healthier and beautiful.
