What to Expect When Skechers, Deckers and VF Corp. Report Earnings
When retailers and brands begin reporting their results for the fourth quarter this week, analysts and investors will get a final read on footwear players’ holiday performance — and a glimpse into what their growth trajectories will look like in 2024.
Boot Barn, Skechers and Deckers Brands kick off the retail earnings season this week, followed by VF Corp. and Under Armour next week.
Throwback: Several companies, such as Boot Barn, Crocs, Genesco, On and Wolverine Worldwide, announced updated sales and earnings expectations for the quarter earlier this month at the 2024 ICR conference . Overall, these early reads suggested that holiday results were generally in line with expectations and in some cases, better-than-expected.
Brooks Announces Shoe Deal With Former Nike Runner Kara Goucher
Brooks on Monday announced a new footwear deal with Kara Goucher , the two-time Olympian and three-time NCAA Champion runner.
The deal includes a footwear sponsorship as well as speaking engagement and athlete collaboration opportunities . It will kick off with the U.S. Olympic Marathon Trials in Orlando in February.

Goucher, who previously had deals with Nike and Skechers, signed with Altra in 2018. Altra confirmed to FN that Goucher is no longer an athlete with the brand.
In November 2021, Goucher was diagnosed with dystonia, a neurological movement disorder. While the diagnosis has impeded her ability to compete, the partnership with Brooks focuses on “Kara’s lived experiences and her passion for bringing attention to the humans behind incredible performances,” a release from Brooks read. The goal is for Goucher to help inspire runners and show how the sport can help change lives.
Crocs Drops New Margaritaville Collaboration With Beach-Inspired Clog
Crocs has collaborated with Margaritaville once again to create a classic clog inspired by the resort and restaurant chain’s beach aesthetic.
The new Margaritaville Beach Classic Clog features a sand-printed upper surrounded by a sole pictured with the shoreline. The footbed and outsole are colored in bright turquoise, which includes the Margaritaville logo along the inside of the pivoting heel strap.
Along with the reiterated Classic Clog , the two brands also collaborated on a collection of Jibbitz charms that features a palm tree, a guitar pick and a colorful parrot.
This is the brands’ second time collaborating with each other, following the success of their limited-edition Classic Clogs set in 2022. The original Buffet-themed set included foam uppers in a marbled pale lime green and white palette, inspired by the summer drink. The pair’s accompanying Jibbitz set also included an opened parrot-shaped bottle. Unlike their current collaboration, the pair was made only available for fans to shop through an online drawing on the Crocs website.
