Earning Academic Credit for Starting a Business
Time is of the essence! When you can get more done at once, you probably should. Get two birds at once, right? At least that's been my thoughts while pursuing my university education through the University of New Brunswick.
Over the past two years, I have operated a summer business staffed entirely by students. Both summers I was able to connect my business experience with a co-op experience and earn credit towards a co-op credit.
The co-op coordinator, Valerie Whyte, was very understanding of my goals and supported the opportunity. With this connection between the Student Works Management Program and the UNB co-op program, many more students in the future will have the opportunity to earn credit towards their degree while developing as an entrepreneur.
