Earn National Recognition for Your Community Working to Improve Health and Equity

Differences in health are shaped by community conditions that we can do something about—affordable and stable homes, quality schools, reliable transportation, access to healthy food and safe neighborhoods.

Yet too often, the prospects for good health are limited by where people live, how much money they make, or the discrimination they face. The Robert Wood Johnson Foundation is committed to working alongside others to build a Culture of Health that provides everyone with a fair and just opportunity for health and well-being.

Personal responsibility is an important factor when it comes to health but the choices we make depend on the choices we have. We see communities across the country leading the way, working together to transform neighborhoods, schools, businesses, and more—so that better health flourishes everywhere, for everyone. In these communities, the healthy choice is the easy one.

Is your community building a shared vision of good health, prosperity, and opportunity for all?

The Robert Wood Johnson Foundation Culture of Health Prize recognizes communities that have come together around a commitment to health and well-being through collaboration. These communities—urban, rural, tribal, large, or small—are beacons of hope and progress for healthier people, families, and places.

You’re invited to apply. The Call for Applications for the 2019 RWJF Culture of Health Prize is open through November 1.

Communities working together in new ways to ensure that everyone in the community has the opportunity to be as healthy as possible are encouraged to apply. Pass this onto others in your network by tagging them in the Comments below. You can help celebrate and bring national attention to your community's achievements in the journey toward better health for all.
