"5-Grand, sweetheart!" Mike was still unsure if the price point was appropriate for someone to prioritize over one's necessities.?

"In VR, Dad, like most technologies, early adopters are the ones that have a say in how things will shape in the future. That is exciting for people as they feel involved in the technology," Olivia responded. "Apple's Vision-Pro may become the future of how tech enthusiasts interact in the virtual world."

"Did Facebook not have their VR headset that was already good enough?" asked Mike. " I thought Oculus was doing well."

"Dad, Facebook is now Meta," Olivia smiled. " And like all product companies, there is always a better one around the corner. Meta will likely work on developing a competing product. Meta Quest-3 is the next version of the current Quest; however, that may not be in direct competition with Apple's Vision-Pro."

"How is this (Vision-Pro) stuff like?" asked Mike.

"Apple's Vision Pro is a groundbreaking spatial computer representing a significant VR technology leap. As reported by Apple, this device integrates digital content with the physical world, allowing users to stay present and connected to others," Olivia responded. "It features the innovative vision-OS, a three-dimensional interface that can be controlled intuitively with eyes, hands, and voice. This operating system enables users to interact with digital content as if it were physically present in their space."

"Is this device transparent? I saw an image that made me feel so," Mike mentioned.

"A vital feature of the Apple Vision Pro is EyeSight, which enhances user interaction and connectivity," Olivia responded. "It allows the device to feel transparent when someone approaches a user wearing the Vision Pro, displaying their eyes and providing visual cues about their focus. This innovation ensures that users remain connected to their surroundings even when fully immersed."

"Does Apple live up to its design language for this product?" Mike wanted to understand that Apple is known for designing easy-to-use but beautifully designed products.?

It combines a three-dimensional formed and laminated glass with a custom aluminum alloy frame that fits comfortably around the user's face," Olivia continued. "The Light Seal and Head Band are made of soft textiles. They are available in various shapes and sizes, ensuring a precise and comfortable fit. The device is designed for high-performance workloads and can run for up to two hours on a single charge."

"Moreover, the Vision Pro's display system is a technological marvel. It packs 23 million pixels into two displays using micro-OLED technology, providing more than a 4K TV resolution for each eye. The device also features a breakthrough Spatial Audio system that creates immersive sound experiences, adapting to the user's environment," Olivia continued.

"I hope this new stuff is safe. The digital world is full of crooks," Mike said.

"For security, the Vision Pro introduces Optic ID, an iris-based biometric authentication system that encrypts and secures personal data. This system is integrated into the Secure Enclave processor, ensuring the highest levels of privacy and security," Olivia assured him.

Mike, like most others of his age, may not have had a keen appetite for newer technology (like VR) had it not been for Olivia. Given his love for his daughter and the need to support her in her journey, Mike kept his curiosity going (about newer technology) and would often strike up conversations with Olivia to polish his understanding of newer products and technologies.?

"What else?" Mike checked.
