Early adopters share impact of LinkedIn's Gen AI launches

Based on our first launches, Generative AI (GAI) is delivering real business results for our customers, and the prediction that teams that embrace AI will start to outperform teams that don’t is starting to play out.?

Over the past year, we’ve been testing whether GAI can provide value across our products for recruiters, learners, marketers, sellers, and small business owners, running hundreds of tests and multiple charter programs in partnership with early adopter customers. These programs are well exceeding our collective expectations, and I’m excited to share a snapshot of the value AI is delivering across our key enterprise products as well as what we plan to do next.

Using AI to help craft personalized messages to job candidates

A key part of our new Recruiter experience is AI-assisted messages, which we began rolling out last May. O ur proprietary GAI model crafts personalized recruiting messages based on our data about the candidate, job description and the recruiter's company, and is trained on anonymized, successful InMails.

Customers using this feature are seeing a 40% higher acceptance rate, and messages are accepted over 10% faster by candidates, compared to non-AI messages. And in our early tests, over three-fourths of recruiters say AI-Assisted Messaging is saving them time.

To date, AI-assisted messages is available in English, and we've just begun rolling out AI-assisted messages in French. Soon the feature will be available in all languages supported in Recruiter.

AI-Assisted Messaging

Helping recruiters use natural language to find qualified candidates faster

Since reimagining our Recruiter product , recruiters can now search with phrases such as "I want to hire a senior growth marketing leader in Chicago" or "I am looking for an entry level customer service manager in London with analytical skills" as opposed to spending hours on Boolean searches. These search capabilities are proving particularly helpful when recruiters search in disciplines they are less familiar with.

Conversational Search

Our customer, Nils Jurischka , Principal Operations (Recruiting) at alphacoders GmbH , shared how it’s helping his teams, ”For candidate searches that may be out of your realm of expertise, AI-Assisted Search in Recruiter is especially useful since it does the heavy lifting for you by understanding who and what you're looking for, which allows you to quickly and accurately find the talent you're looking for."

Rachel Gold , Senior Recruiter at SAP , said, "I've been doing candidate searches one way for so many years that there's a certain sense of relief in being able to just use my own words and say 'Hey, I need to find XYZ' using Linkedin Recruiter."?

We are constantly working on enhancing the search experience for our customers, and over the next couple of quarters we’ll make AI-search available for all global Recruiter customers.?

Empowering learners to develop skills faster and more effectively?

We recently introduced an AI-powered coaching experience in LinkedIn Learning . It summarizes best practices and provides personalized course recommendations for the entire 10,000 course English library. Whenever a learner asks a question such as “How do I give performance feedback to a high achiever who is struggling to build relationships with colleagues?” it responds based on the profile of the learner such as their level in the organization, industry, and function. Learners can absorb best practices in the few minutes before a meeting, and then go deeper through longer form video content for richer skill development.??

Early results suggest that GAI models trained on best practice content have the potential to deliver incredible personalized learning experiences consumable in the flow of work.???

Kate Booth , Head of Learning and Development at MinterEllison , a legal and consulting firm in Australia, said, “It's really taken a load off my team in helping our people explore, curate and find learning opportunities that are relevant to them. Now, they can make the most of the vast LinkedIn Learning library and really navigate this incredible resource.”

Soon we'll be infusing GAI throughout the product to offer even more personalized and actionable experiences for learners, including when they are searching for content and watching courses.

AI-Powered Coaching

Enabling marketers to improve ad performance and create campaigns faster

Last October, we introduced Accelerate to a limited number of customers in North America to make it easy to create B2B marketing campaigns by just entering the URL of your website. It can take less than 5 minutes. The technology builds upon previous AI features such as automated placement, which is delivering a 47% improvement in cost per conversion, and Predictive Audiences , which is improving cost per lead by 21%.

Advertisers in the beta created Accelerate campaigns 15% more efficiently, and we’re seeing repeated use: in the beta, 43% of beta participants that launched an Accelerate campaign, launched at least one more within 3 months.*? EPL Digital , a digital marketing agency that helped us beta test Accelerate, saw distinct benefits after only one month, reporting a 70% surge in lead generation, 67% reduction in cost per lead and 745% return on ad spend.?

LinkedIn Accelerate uses AI to optimize media campaigns

With early success in beta, we have begun to slowly roll out Accelerate to customers across the globe and we look forward to supporting more campaign objectives to help marketers optimize their campaigns to what matters most for their business.??

Prepping sales teams for customer conversations

Our Sales Navigator customers have been thrilled with our new GAI feature, Account IQ, which automatically builds an account dossier from various sources to help sales people prepare for meetings. It uses publicly available information as well as data unique to LinkedIn to summarize the account’s strategic priorities and challenges, talent trends, and other information which would normally take hours to compile. Lisa Gudding , Executive VP at Ipsos said, “We are always asked by leadership 'what do you need to sell more' and the answer is more hours in the day. That's what Account IQ is giving us.”

One of our customers – a digital printing company – reported that Account IQ helped their sales teams streamline the account planning process, saving roughly six hours per account plan. Over time, Account IQ will become increasingly personalized to the seller so that the insights delivered are as impactful as possible.

Helping professionals stand out with Premium?

It’s not just enterprises that are realizing the benefits of AI. A few weeks ago, I shared details about the impact AI is having on our Premium subscription business . AI features in our Premium products – Premium Careers and Premium Business – are helping us accelerate membership growth, with subscriptions up 24% year-over-year and revenue up 29% year-over-year . In particular, we’re seeing success using AI to help members summarize takeaways from posts, optimize their profiles, and assess their fit to a particular job.

The secret to winning with GAI: get started to learn what’s possible

If you want to figure out how GAI can make a real impact on your business, the best way is to enable your teams to start testing specific use cases. You can only truly discover where it’s most valuable through trial and error. As we wrestle big questions about "what's next," we’re excited to work alongside our customers by giving them the tools to seize the opportunities this moment presents.
