INNOVATIVE HEADSET BOOSTS HEARING
Earbus Foundation strives to be at the forefront of innovative interventions to support impactful hearing health outcomes for Aboriginal and at-risk children. This is particularly important for those living in regional and remote communities, where access to services and devices can be challenging and expensive.?
Earbus co-founders Dr Lara Shur & Paul Higginbotham reached out to Dr Tamsin H. early this year, leading to an exciting opportunity to trial a device she invented. Dr Holland-Brown, an NHS paediatrician and award-winning health entrepreneur, has created an affordable bone conductor headset which could be a game changer in helping children hear and learn.
Over the last six months, Earbus Audiologists have tested the headset on Aboriginal children in remote schools. The results so far have been positive, news we were excited to share when Earbus ran into Dr Holland-Brown as delegates at the 36th World Congress of Audiology in September.?
OUR THANKS TO
Our grateful thanks to Bibbulmun Fund for generously supporting our hearing health programs for Aboriginal and at-risk children in the Goldfields region.?

EAR-SSENTIAL FACTS
Ever suffered from vertigo?
The ear not only hears but also helps us balance. Inside the inner ear, tiny fluid-filled canals shift with head movements, signaling our brain about position. When crystals in these canals dislodge, they disrupt fluid flow, causing vertigo—a spinning sensation from mismatched signals. This link between hearing and balance shows how the ear supports stability, making inner ear health crucial for both sound and spatial orientation.
