10 YEARS OF SERVICE IN THE GOLDFIELDS

2024 marks a decade of Earbus services in the Goldfields Region. A lot has happened in ten years!?In 2014, peak rates of hearing loss impacting children’s ability to hear and learn were as high as 87%. Today that figure is 33%.

This is not a journey we walk alone. From the very first trip, we were made to feel welcome by families and communities. We are humbled by their continued support. ?

We gratefully acknowledge the advocacy of our partner schools. East Kalgoorlie PS in particular has always championed our work, bolstering our applications over the years with letters of support.?

MEET OUR BOARD

Mr Paul Higginbotham is a former Teacher of the Deaf. Paul holds multiple education degrees, has held senior leadership roles since 1991 and was the recipient of the Harry Blackmore Award for outstanding leadership in the field of childhood hearing impairment in 2012.

Paul co-founded Earbus in 2013. He holds the position of Board Secretary and was the Foundation's inaugural CEO. He works as Executive Director at Earbus Foundation of Western Australia alongside our current CEO, Dr Lara Shur .?
