Ear Worm

Have you ever noticed how the last song or jingle you heard on the radio or television sticks in your brain??I know it happens to me almost daily.?Seems like the attorneys in Tucson are there today as well as the song on FM 105.7 I just heard Aerosmith’s?Sweet Emotions.?I love listening to FM 105.7, 80’s music to which I can dance to in the seat of my cars or truck.

Some years ago a pastor from San Diego came to me wanting to create a Christian themed radio station.?Concerned about youth in San Diego with the bad messages they were receiving from media available to them, especially radio.?I agreed with him and gave him some Christian radio resources I had to get his message out in social radio media.

As I write this article the news of the border crisis is rampant.?Illegal aliens crossing the Mexican border.?Many of my neighbors, family, and friends are fearful of what will happen to them, their families, and possessions.?

A book I read daily has a number of passages that give me the confidence that I need to live a fun filled productive life.?Here below are three passages as example of why I have confidence:

Before I sleep as when I wake,

And through my body I forsake,

Rest in the Lord in fearless calm.

·??????Cast thy burden upon the Lord, and he shall sustain thee.

·??????For in the day of trouble he will hide me in his pavilion: in the shelter of his tabernacle will he conceal me; he will lift me up upon a rock.

We all have choices.?My preference is to skim the news to be generally informed, listen to music that I can dance to in the seat of my cars or truck, and read my prayer book daily.?With choice we can create our own outcomes.?Much like ear worms, I make life choices daily to meet what I believe will deliver a better life.?I choose to:

·??????Spend leisure time with Lynne and Jude.

·??????Continue to run INTEGRITY.

·??????Read my prayer book daily.

·??????Study my Bible every Monday morning.

·??????Exercise six days per week.

·??????Enjoy the Sabbath on Saturdays.

·??????Follow an eating regiment that has allowed me to maintain a healthy diet.

·??????Enjoy my antique car hobby.

·??????Watch YouTube car videos.

All the above are my ear worms, or things I choose to focus.?I believe they will make me the person I want to be.?I believe that we were all put here for a purpose.?One of those purposes is to have joy in our lives.?Dancing to the music in the driver’s seat of my car brings me joy.?Exercise brings me good health which fills me with joy.?Cleaning, polishing antique cars, going to car shows keeps me busy, creates new friendships bringing value to my life.?Writing and running INTEGRITY keeps me current in the business community.?Daily prayer delivers a mindful enlightenment which keeps me centered, balanced, and mostly fearless.

Ear worms can create joy or angst.?What you choose should bring you joy!
