Eamonn Warters - Commercial Director, Mazda Financial Services
How long have you been a part of the Toyota family, and how did your journey begin with the?company??
I am in my 27th year. I joined as a PCP trainer back in 1997, after 11 years in the retail motor industry.
What is your role, and could you provide a glimpse into what a typical day looks like for you?
I am Commercial Director at Mazda Financial Services. There is no such thing as a typical day for me at the moment. We are in the process of establishing our Mazda Financial Services operation, and I am the Project Sponsor.
We are working to a very tight timeline on this strategically important project. It has been great to establish new working relationships with the Mazda UK Team.
Tell us about your most rewarding experience, or your favourite memory from your time so far at TFS?
My favourite time at TFS was when I was a Regional Manager. I had an amazing team, all of whom worked and played hard, we achieved so much together.
There are so many good memories, too many to mention. I look back at that time with great fondness.
What advice would you give to someone starting their career at TFS?
Grasp every opportunity presented to you.
Invest in your own personal development.
Don't fear failure, rather consider it a chance to learn.

At TFS continuous improvement is essential. How does TFS support your growth and skill development?
There is a great deal of support available, including a wide range of formal training sessions, but there are also plenty of self-development programmes if you want to learn more.
What does a perfect weekend look like for you?
Football, cycling, Park Run, dog walking and most importantly a good bottle of wine!
What are you currently watching, reading, or listening to?
I spend a lot of time in the car, which can be quite boring, but long journeys can be broken up by good podcasts. I really like The Rest is Politics, with Alistair Campbell and Rory Stewart, they discuss such a wide range of topics, but do it in a grown-up, informative way. If only all politics was like that!
I also listen to the Price of Football, which looks at the finances of football. It is a totally dysfunctional business, but somehow seems to survive.??
To chill out, I find myself searching for classic British comedy such as Black Adder or Fawlty Towers, they stand the test of time and still make me laugh.
Who are the three people you would invite to your dream dinner party, and why?
This is a random selection!
1. Martin Luther King - my all-time hero.
2. Julie Walters - just an amazing actress and would be so entertaining.
3. Brian Clough - a football genius, so ahead of his time.
It might be the first dinner party where I struggle to get a word in!

5 个月Absolute terrible service on a used Mazda 3 from the Newport branch. I had to have the wheels repaired some twice and one 3 times and currently the paint has stayed on. They've permanently damaged the paintwork trying to remove scratches and confirmed it needs painting. Terrible sales manager Gavin Jones. Happy to tell whatever lies, worst experience ever.

8 个月Why is it that the more senior role the less fun it is. I myself would say my most fun and memorable role was as a Sales Exec, yes the Sales Manager role and Head of Business role paid more but I wouldn't say they were more fun, if anything, they got more serious. Why do we strive for a role that is more serious and less fun?
