INDUSTRY NEWS ROUNDUP
In the ethical AI community there has been a growing concern about the impact of large language AI models like ChatGPT. Italy, for example, recently banned the use of ChatGPT in public administration, citing concerns about bias and the potential for misuse, while Germany is considering a similar ban due to privacy concerns. In the UK the Department for Science, Innovation and Technology and Office for Artificial Intelligence issued plans for implementing a pro-innovation approach to AI regulation. In addition, an open letter was published by a group of researchers calling for a halt to the development of large language AI models, stimulating a broader discussion in the public domain. As the field of Ethical AI continues to grow, it's clear that there is a need for careful consideration of the potential risks and benefits of these powerful technologies.
We look forward to continuing to build our community and explore the many pressing developments in the world of Ethical and responsible AI. If you are interested in joining our private community, please email [email protected] for more information.
