Hello EAIGG Community,

It's been incredible to see the excitement and interest from our community regarding the promise and potential of Ethical AI Governance throughout the world. This month, we are delighted to share a key update regarding a new addition to our Board of Directors. We are looking forward to sharing another Perspective's Series from an eminent data analytics leader within the community. We also have an upcoming in-person event we are excited to promote.

Announcing New Board Member:

Giovanni Leoni, Global Head of Algorithmic and AI Ethics at Inter-IKEA Group

We are excited to announce the addition of Giovanni Leoni, Global Head of Algorithmic and AI Ethics at Inter-IKEA Group to our Board of Directors.

Giovanni is responsible for identifying, developing, and embedding digital ethics knowledge and competence across the Inter-IKEA group of companies. He leads the identification and scoping of key digital-related ethical issues that could affect the IKEA brand. He also represents the Inter-IKEA Group by participating in related legislative industry consultations and in various forums or bodies. Previously, he was the Head of Automation for the City of Malm?, Sweden.

It's truly an honor to welcome Giovanni to our Board and we look forward to the tremendous impact he will make on our global community.

Perspective's Series: Data as a Liability

In this Perspectives Series, EAIGG's Managing Director, Emmanuel Benhamou, hosts a fireside chat with Dr. Prashanth Southekal to discuss the risks of big data and how data can actually be a liability for businesses if improperly managed. In this discussion, they will explore the best governance strategies for managing AI implementations and why not all data is beneficial to enterprises.

Before starting DBP Institute Dr. Prashanth H Southekal worked for SAP, P&G, Accenture, and General Electric. Today, he sits on the Advisory board of Evalueserve (Switzerland) and Grihasoft (India). He has consulted over 75 different organizations and trained over 3000 people the world over in Data Analytics. He is also an Adjunct Professor of Data Analytics at the IE Business School (Spain). Dr.Southekal holds a Ph.D. from ESC Lille (FR) and an MBA from Kellogg School of Management (US).

EAIGG Presentation at IPEM, Cannes

We are excited to announce that the EAIGG leadership will be attending the IPEM conference at the Cannes Festival on September 21st. We're sponsoring an intimate one hour session with European GPs and LPs interested in Ethical AI. The session will introduce our audience of venture investors to EAIGG and discuss our efforts to raise a platform ethical concerns, and how this can be operationalized in the workplace.
