Eagle2Eagle: Why the Change?

Eagle2Eagle: Why the Change?

I deeply appreciate the over 3,000 subscribers to my LinkedIn Newsletter. Over the years, my posts have been entirely focused on learning and development, mostly for large organizations.

While I continue to work professionally in L&D, I decided to make a change to this newsletter and add a component of something deeply personal and important to me: my Christian faith. I fully understand that this change will result in some of you unsubscribing to this newsletter because it is not what you signed up for. I wish you nothing but the very best!

For those of you who wish to continue to subscribe, I invite you to join this community at www.eagle2eagle.com. Membership is free. I (and eventually others) will produce weekly devotionals and blog posts which will be hosted on the site and sent to subscribers. In the coming months, we will add podcasts and webinars. The content will focus on the intersection of Christian faith and our work as L&D professionals.

The site will also enable members to engage with each other. There are places to share ideas, ask questions of others, let others know about great articles and events, and find a next job or their next great learning team members. In time, we will add monthly cohorts for this who wish to be part of a small group on a monthly basis for support, encouragement, and the sharing of expertise.

Creating this community for Christians who provide leadership in L&D was the idea of my wife, Mary. Her suggestion was to combine my two passions and create a space for people who are serious about their work and serious about their Christian faith. It is my hope that this community is a source of encouragement, knowledge and opportunities for all who decide to be part of it.?

I have been a pastor since 1991 and have served our current church, Wayland Christian Reformed Church, since 2006 as preaching pastor. I have also been involved in adult learning for more than three decades. I've built curriculum for adult education, for master's-level courses on global business, and taught in classrooms for many years. I was one of the co-founders of Inno-Versity (now MindSpring) and currently am a consultant for Ingenuiti, a company that provides learning services, localization and translations, and staff augmentation for Fortune 1000 companies. In these roles, I've been privileged to work with some of the largest corporations in the world with tens of thousands of team members across the globe.?

My hope is that Eagle2Eagle is a place for Christians to encourage one another and learn from one another as we live out our vocation in learning and development. I hope you join this community, and I look forward to engaging with you.
