The Eagle Experience: Makayla's Journey

As I reflect on my time in the UK, I am filled with a sense of accomplishment. My journey began as an American High School Graduate seeking self-discovery and purpose, and through Eagle London's mentorship and support, I have grown both personally and socially. Eagle London, a Black-owned marketing and technology company, played a significant role in my journey. Co-Founded by Philip Osei-Hwere FRSA and Martin Anncou , Eagle London's commitment to empowering the next generation of leaders resonated deeply with me.?

Philip secured a mentorship opportunity for me with Santiago G. , Eagle London's talented Creative Director. Santiago entrusted me with a podcast assignment that helped me uncover new facets of myself. Through this experience, I gained profound insights into Black British culture and developed valuable skills that I'll continue to use throughout my lifetime. The podcast became a transformative tool for helping me find myself, revealing strengths and passions I never knew existed.?

The process of writing the podcast started off slow since this was the first time I had to write and host a discussion. I found inspiration in Eagle London's YouTube Channel and Steven Bartlett 's podcast series, The Diary Of A CEO. To craft a compelling narrative, I reflected on why we celebrate Black History, exploring its origins and pivotal events that led to global recognition.?

Then considering pressing issues within the Black community, I identified key discussion points that I wanted to address within the podcast and then began to make my talking points and started conducting research. Although time constraints prevented covering all topics during recording, the research process remained rewarding. Upon completion, I felt accomplished and confident in my ability to tackle similar projects.

Calvin-Thomas Agodi, the Marketing Coordinator's friendship, embodied the team's warmth, making me feel welcomed. I learned to embrace challenges, explore new interests, and cherish diverse perspectives. I am deeply grateful for Eagle London's impact. This noble Black-owned marketing and tech powerhouse promoted growth, providing unique opportunities. Philip's trust, Santiago's mentorship, and the entire team's support have been invaluable.
