I was reminiscing the first time I became a "Team Lead“, what triggered this thought? Being in? my current position as a lead I really need a dose of inspiration or motivation , it just seems really challenging sometimes to really make even incremental differences to your team or even to your organization. Coming back to reminiscing the first time as a lead, you just have crossed over to the other side & now you are “Management”. It seems all so possible by being in this new role to make a difference which you have been thinking, dreaming, complaining about since your were just “Staff”. You start of very enthusiastic in your first management meeting, by questioning, opinionating , ideating, providing all types of solutions in short doing all the “…ings” to show you have arrived on the stage. Be it the ambition, ignorance or just plain belief that you being in this position you can make the difference you always thought was not possible by just being a regular “Staff”. Time passes, realism sets in as time passes . Now not getting into the how & why whether it worked or not, I just need this start when I stepped into this role the first time to keep myself going. I just feel , if I keep this on a loop it may just keep me motivated & ever on the path to not back down & continue to be at it.
