Our Partners, Samriti and Sana, were panellist at FICCI Frames 2024, themed "Empowering Voices, Ensuring Cine Safety," the event spotlighted safety challenges for women and children in the entertainment sector. Discussions delved into partnership opportunities, regulatory effectiveness of POCSO and POSH from both psychological and legal perspective.
As we delve into gender roles this Women's Day, a Tech Mahindra video showcases women in STEM fields challenging stereotypes. Yet, despite their qualifications and achievements, women in STEM fields often find their expertise overlooked within their own families, pointing to deeply ingrained societal biases and gender stereotypes that still persist. On March 8, 1917, in Petrograd, women textile workers started protesting for "Bread and Peace" – they wanted the end of World War I, food shortages, and Tsarism. This led to the February Revolution, which, along with the October Revolution, formed the Russian Revolution. Leon Trotsky, a revolutionary leader, said, "23 February in Julian Calendar (which is 8th March) was International Woman's Day and meetings and actions were foreseen. But we did not imagine that this 'Women's Day' would inaugurate the great revolutions.

Curious Cat: Do you how Indian women are fairing in the STEM field?
Answer: A whopping 43% of Indian graduates in the STEM field are women. However, when it comes to actually working in STEM, that number dwindles down to 28%. There is a systemic bias against women pursuing STEM in India. Fewer research grants are awarded to women. Even fewer are published works by women in leading journals.
