We, the undersigned, are strategists, architects and business technologists who have been brought up in a world in which the apparatus of empty, non-prescriptive, non-user oriented thoughts have persistently been presented to us as the only way to use logic in the volatile enterprise world.
We have been bombarded with lineair techniques devoted to this belief, mostly by universities, consultancies and influencers. Our clients accepted it as they had no other choice, intrigued as they were by the opportunities and beauty of the discipline, and we were stimulated to use it further as there were no alternatives. There was however no focus on results, nor was the user of much importance. It were shallow frameworks, processes, continuums and matrices.
By far the greatest efforts of those working in the digital, enterprise architecture, information architecture and business technology industry are wasted on inside-out methods and lineair, anti-holistic reasoning which contribute little or nothing to business prosperity.
In common with an increasing numer of the business public, we have reached a saturation point at which the high pitched scream of shallow methods is no more than sheer noise. We think that there are other things more worth using our skill and experience on.
We refer to the creation of a holistic view on business creation, that delivers concrete things for real people, things that people want and need.
The conception of (digital) architecture blueprints, as many businesses can be designed in the same way.
The clear and structured definition of relationships, spaces, interactions, transactions and communications from a user-centric point of view and how a business works from a systems-thinking perspective. There are no components, only systems and multi-realities.
Real content, descriptive collateral, concrete artifacts that help people, consumers, customers, business partners, entrepreneurs, business leaders, managers of any kind, engineers, accountants, sales representatives, marketeers, procurement staff, strategists, thinkers, architects, technologists and all other types of business stakeholders to create, to innovate, to grow and to evolve in an efficient, understandable and satisfying manner by building enterprises that are created around real user needs, on the intersection of brands, propositions and channels.

6 年I'd say the that approach for EA as a documentation for a purpose of documentation is dead. But it was dead before as well. But as a tool for building information repositories and visualizing how the enterprise work from different points of view and different level of details, I think it’ll be alive for along time.

6 年EA is dead? Only in a dead company! Architecture is present whether one has the ability to see it or not. EA is literally the practice of visualizing and creating the underlying design to generate value for business.
I found a low signal to noise ratio, must be me....

6 年Build an Integrated Architecture for XXI° century, we must think with different managements : - 4.0 organization - asset(s) system - data streams & IOT(sub-data net) - information channelization - artificial intelligence & joint-systems - knowledge, competences, know-how, learning & innovation - business intelligence - all risks mitigation - activities coalition - balanced competitivity strategy - value & sustainable points structure - capability, capacity, ease, maturity - work welfare principles. > Full digital and new technologies and business/company agility {general conversion} is now and next years goal and alone strategy. But methodologies can and must change instead copy and repeat transformation success from other enterprises, and without use past {reflexions & architecture techniques}. Zachman recently lets? hear its framework must evolve for agility. > Pass from concrete components to vehicle elements : -relationships, partnerships, streamization, community -planned values, latent values, perceived values, responsiveness values, community values -proceedings processing guides : no rule = agility -responsiveship offerings : no organization = agility -neurovalueing roles : no function = agility > And You...?
